TPC Tampa Bay
Played On 03/05/2018Nice Course, yet would have thought Higher for a TPC
Nice course, nice layout, some risk / reward opportunities. True Greens. Has a short game practice area.
Staff friendly, pro shop was well done and maintained. Bag drop and pickup staff very friendly.
Downside was primarily that it did not meet my 'expectations' of a TPC caliber course. Being a TPC course, I would have expected better-
Examples:
- Driving range was beat up, crabgrass, and poorly maintained
- Course had plenty of tree foliage (needles, leaves, buds, etc) in the first cut and rough area, looked like it was not blown off in many days.
- Some of the cup holes were beat up / brown around the area (like cup not moved in days).
- Some of the tee areas were beat up.
While a nice course to play, and if in the Tampa area, a good one to play and pick, yet there are better courses, and better maintained, for similar greens fees in the area.
Crooked Cat at Orange County National
Played On 01/14/2018Always a pleasure
For mid January, the course was in pristine shape, as always.
Even the 'off fairway' areas were well kept up, and continually shows the care that goes into keeping this course up through the winter season.
Greens were excellent, rolled true, and were somewhere in the stimp 11-12 range.
Always a pleasure to play at Orange County-

Played On 11/06/2017A 'destination' course in the Orlando area
While I shouldn't call it a 'destination' course, as it will influence my ability to play often, I want to say that it is a wonderful course, with 5 sets of tee boxes for all levels of capability.
The PGA qualifier (I believe) is played there yearly, so that by itself will let you know the level this course is.
The course for early November was in perfect condition. The Tees, fairways, and greens were manicured perfectly. The greens rolled very true, and were in excellent shape, playing a speed of about 11 to 11+.
Would love to live close to this course, as the practice facility and driving range is nothing but first class all the way.
Definitely recommend this course, and specifically Orange County National Golf.
White Heron Golf Club
Played On 11/04/2017A nice course, yet slow play
I've played this before, and the partner I brought to play hadn't played golf since June, so this was a good course for him to get his swing back. Overall, the course is in good shape, and has some nice holes, but certainly not a 'destination' course.
Pace was slow, as there seemed to be a lot of residents on the course, and using the course more for a time to socialize than to keep up the pace of play. (3 hrs 15 min for 9 holes!).
While it is the 'slow' season prior to the snowbirds coming, the pace of play certainly fit the time of the season :)
I would play it again, yet would try to avoid the residents social time. Guessing the pro shop would let me know next time I book on times to avoid.
Being the 'slow' season, pro shop was closed, and paid at the snack bar/ grill. Not a big deal, just odd.
Schalamar Creek Golf Club
Played On 02/06/2017Plays tougher than 6100 yards
This course is set in a 55+ community, and certainly caters to the residences there, with some residents "past their prime" of playing 7000+ yard courses. They do have many tee boxes, but the longest is 6100 yards. While I normally tend to play 6600 - 7000 yard courses, I found the black tees (6100 yards) quite challenging. From this distance, the landing area for 230-270 yard drives is quite narrow. So, choose your driver to risk the reward, or club down on a couple of the tee shots.
The approach shots are challenging on a few holes, and greens are excellent condition, and on many holes, green reading is a must.
A very pretty course. Greens in excellent shape. Folks are very friendly. Certainly recommend if in the area, and not in need of a long course.
The Club at Eaglebrooke
Played On 02/05/2017Excellent course for low/ mid handicappers
Really enjoy this course. 2nd time playing it, and enjoyed as much as the 1st time. Challenging, yet fair. Fair amount of "risk vs. reward" shots, both from the tees and approaches. Course in perfect condition (both times). Sites around, both natural and the homes along the course, were beautiful. Rangers were about, but no real need.
Got there early, but could not check in (to use range) until 1 hour prior to tee time. Friendly staff, starter, and course rangers.
Playing partner did struggle with the layout and some carry areas, as some of the higher handicappers (20+) may find the course more challenging than most.
Loved the course, and will definitely be back again!
HI "uXYBD8809XY" Thank you so much for the great review. We are so glad that you enjoyed your day with us from NY. The course is very much a fun risk reward shot. We appreciate the great feedback and hope to see you again in the near future.

Played On 12/05/2016A "gotta play" course in the Orlando Area
Went on a 4 day golf junket. All of us agreed that this was the best course we played. Played other 'championship' courses in area, and all were nice for various reasons, yet this course was clearly the one we all rated #1 of the four courses on this trip.
Definitely a "must play"
MetroWest Golf Club
Played On 12/04/2016An excellent Course!!..... In need of maintenance
Wow. What a great layout, great views of downtown Orlando, great elevation changes. Friendly staff. This course has been highly rated for years, and now I understand why it has dropped off the "top courses in Orlando list"
This course needs Maintenance in the worst way! The driving range tee area has no grass, and was drier than a west Texas course in August.
Weeds are apparent in the rough, and in some places in the fairway. The 11th hole- tee to green -was completely burned out.
This course has all kinds of potential. Just need to get the grounds addressed. The course can truly be a marvel in the Orlando area. Need to invest in the groundskeeping!
Thank you for taking the time to write a review for us. I'm very to hear about your experience. We are constantly striving to improve the conditions of the course. Although some things will take more time to see the differences, we are working on things we can improve on right away to make playing as enjoyable as possible. GreyStone Golf Club
Played On 07/07/2016Very Nice Course in the Hills of Tennessee
A really nice course, about 35 miles west of Nashville. Staff very friendly. Ranger on the course, saw him about every 4-6 holes. Clubhouse sits high overlooking the course 1, 10 tees, and 9 greens well above the course. Very interesting 12th hole... could be called "Stonehenge", as there are many rock formations strategically positioned in the fairway. (An Interesting and unique hole to play).
Day we played was incredibly hot (102') and humid (over 90%). Actually helped my game, as I did not want to waste a shot (where I'd have to swing a club again). Yes, we finished, but it was a very hot day.
Wolf at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort
Played On 03/17/2016A scenic, challenging course
A very scenic setting. A true desert course. All good things to say about this course, other than pace of play. To be fair, unbeknownst to me at the time of booking, it was NCAA basketball weekend, and was told at the course that there are plenty of college and alumni folks who are on the course, and pace may be slow. Round took 5:20...
Other than that issue, really a pretty course, and quite challengine. Well Manicured. Would like to play again when not during 'college' time, and play at a normal pace (probably about 4:00 - 4:15 total).
Aliante Golf Course
Played On 03/16/2016Nice course- resort type, and around homes
A nice course with a nice layout. Ground was a little hard, and ball typically rolled 20-30 yards more than 'normal' on a good drive.
Sand / bunkers were somewhat 'grainy', not fluffy sand.
Some pretty holes, where you tee off with the mountains in the distance. Awesome view watching your ball rise with the mountains in the background.
Certainly would play again.
Foothills Golf Club
Played On 11/08/2014Beautiful Layout- Need to ban allowing more than 4somes as a group
A beautiful course! The layout is spectacular, and certainly fits the definition of a desert course. Keep it in play, and take in the beautiful mountain scenery. I would definitely play again.
Greens were in nice shape. Fairways a little in transition in spots (guessing due to overseeding season), but most areas were in pristine condition.
Negatives were that the starter let a fivesome off in front of us - were told that they were playing "scramble" format, and should not be a hold up. While they group did play scramble on the 1st and 10th holes (in view of the starter house), it was back to stroke play for the fivesome. After a 5 1/2 hour round, (and guessing about 4 open holes in front of the fivesome), we finished with a bad feeling after waiting on every shot for the group in front of us. Even on the par 3's, the fivesome would not let us hit up/ go in front of. So, really it was a rude group of 5 in front of us, but I must knock the starter in this review for even letting them go off as a group of 5.
Imperial Lakes Golf & Country Club
Played On 4/26/2013Nice Course Layout. Needs major maintaining work! (like grass).
Course has an excellent layout, and can be challenging. The course is in dire need of upkeep, as the fairways and greens were burned out, the sand traps were very hard, and had weeds growing in them.
The cost of play is very reasonable, but there are other courses in the area that are in better playing shape for similar fees.
Maintain the course. Get it in playable conditons for the average and above golfer, and this course can be a gem in central Florida.
Its a shot makers course with a lot of character. Lots of fun on every hole. Come see for yourself !
