Winter Park Golf Course
Played On 07/21/2020Twin Rivers Golf Club
Played On 04/18/2015Will be my last time playing this course, after years of enjoying it.
I would like to start by saying that the entire mood of being able to get out on the weekend and just play golf was ruined the first 5 minutes of being there. The pace of play we relatively slow with up to four groups on one hole. This was pretty consistent throughout the entire course. The "Player Assistant" met us teeing off at the 8th hole (Par 3), and as anyone who has ever played golf before knows, you do not tee off on a par 3 until the group in front of you clears the green. I did not think I needed to explain to this employee the very basics of courtesy play. Needless to say, the group in front of us put the flag back in the cup and began to walk off the green. That is when myself and the other three golfers in my group got our clubs from our bags and began to set up our tee shots. This "Player Assistant" saw the group in front of us finish their putts as we started to get our clubs ready. The very second that flag was placed back in the cup from the precious group, this employee began to yell at us to "get going", "hit the ball", and "you're holding the whole course up". Mind you, he was still about 20 yards away so these gestures were made from him yelling our way. I told the "Player Assistant" that I was not going to hit the ball until they drove their carts away from the green to avoid hitting near them. This employee continued to badger from 20 yards away at my foursome as we attempted to stay focused on our shots and not get sidetracked by this employee who is supposed to be "Assisting" us. This was only the beginning. He was within eyesight from us at every tee box after that! I imagine to make sure we didn't take any more than necessary time to prepare for our shots. There is nothing more frustrating than to be harassed by the ranger and to feel like he is following you the entire round. I have played this course for years and I will NOT be returning. The course isn't nearly good enough to put up with this from its employees. The employees should be fully aware of the game of golf before they begin taunting their customers and those who keep these fools employed.
