About
Have played for many years but never more than a couple of times a year. Got more serious about the game this year (2013), remade my swing, upgraded some clubs, and playing much more regularly. Went from high 90s to mid 80s and still improving and refining my game. Serous golf addiction starting to happen!

Shadow Lakes Club
Played On 08/28/2016I keep coming back
Been playing here for a few years and I come back for the terrain, great layout and challenging greens. I really like many of the holes that require a mix of strategy but are open enough to encourage long driving. The greens are often multi-tiered and require a careful look before putting, Greens and fairways are pretty well maintained. Tee boxes are OK, sand traps are hard dirt, and weirdly, some ball washers are missing or empty. Nevertheless, for the price, layout, and good pace of play, I can have a really enjoyable round of golf.
Diablo Grande Golf & Country Club
Played On 08/23/2016Great golf course!
Loved it! Beautiful natural surroundings, great layout and variety of holes. It's a Troon course, so the greens, fairways, and tee boxes are all in excellent shape. Nice driving range with balls just waiting in piles. The first six holes are average difficulty and a good warm-up. Holes 7 through 16 are a real challenge. 17 and 18 will help you get your confidence back. ;-) From the blue tees, you better be a long hitter and accurate from the fairways. These are not driver-wedge holes.
Diablo Grande is a quality experience and a great value, well worth the one hour drive to get here. This is my go-to course.
Roddy Ranch Golf Club
Played On 11/2/2013Fun and challenging course, well worth the drive.
Played on a Saturday afternoon. Course was in very good shape. Greens had been aerated a little over a week earlier and were slower than usual but very playable. Course has plenty of challenges with numerous elevation changes and great views. Excellent weather. Finished in about 4 1/2 hours. Casual atmosphere with very friendly and helpful staff. Best value in the Bay Area!
