We had played the course in December and again this last week. The December condition was a lot better than now. The front side greens were really neglected. The weeds on the fairways are starting to get the best of the place.

The course is well designed for a public course and the green fees are reasonable.
The sand traps are really desert floor which are acceptable.
The course really needs a marshall to keep play moving.

With my handicap, I would generally play this course from the white tees but we were paired with two fellows who were playing from the back blue tees. That consisted of about 500 yards so for most holes the extra distance was not significant. The front side was open enough that one could recover from a poor shot. The back 9 was certainly more challenging. A poor shot there would result in a penalty. On the back 9, the greens were protected with water or traps. Even a poor lay-up shot would produce trouble. What I will remember the course best for are the challenging par 3s. They all require a very good tee shot.
Over all, this was a good experience.

The one eye sore on the course was the trash-drinking cups and wrappers in the brush along Cave Creek Wash. The maintenance crew really needs to get in there an clean up that mess.

The greens had just been aerated and sanded so they were rough and unpredictable. The rest of the course was fine. I was paired up with a couple of club members and they helped make the experience pleasurable.
