Gaylord Springs Golf Links
Played On 10/14/2020Wonderful course and facility
Gaylord Springs is a fantastic course. Anyone in or visiting Nashville should make it a point to play here. We started at exactly our tee time, and played in just under 4 hours which is pretty great. GPS on the carts is a welcome feature as playing it for the first time makes it really hard to know where to go. The practice facility is wonderful, the clubhouse is spacious and in the middle of everything. I can't say enough about the course!
Singing Hills Golf Resort at Sycuan - Oak Glen

Played On 05/20/2018Riverwalk - decent track, close to downtown, very slow and busy
First thing, when you play here on a weekend, you have to expect a 5 hour round. We played as a 3 some, behind what seemed to be the slowest 4some on the planet, They were 2 full holes open in front of them after only 7 holes. While they stopped at the halfway hut for food between 9's we jumped out in front of them. They never caught us the rest of the day despite us still waiting on every shot. Pace here it's generally slow due to volume. Enough about pace of play.
Conditions - San Diego has been in a drought lately so the fairways and rough have bare patches. The greens ARE FANTASTIC, even though they had been punched recently, they recovered and rolled true.
Value: Decent. We paid $60 including a cart, so that was a good price, but I'd gladly pay more for little to no waiting. There are no marshalls
Eagle Crest Golf Club
Played On 08/12/2017Golfing in a Donkey Patch
This is a terrible course. Here is a run-down of our day for 3 decent golfers (handi-cap index 3.5, 10, 14).
- Private, gated course and no clear way as to how to get into the gated area. We had to sneak in behind another car.
- Shoddy, sad 'clubhouse' is more like a temporary sales trailer
- Gentleman checking us in couldn't be bothered to stop his conversation on his cell phone to say good morning or welcome.
- Ladies washroom was FILTHY!!!!! (hovering required). The paper towel holder was jammed up so I had to use TP to dry my hands.
- Greens were shaggy and slow
- 'fairways' were frequently patches of dirt. At least 4 times each of us struggled to find a patch of green to hit off of.
- Tee boxes were frequently just patches of dirt. They were also very uneven.
- bunkers were filled with small rocks and 'sand' was more like contractor grade fill. Several times we removed our balls from the 'sand' b/c we didn't want to damage our wedges
- it's just sad... seems like no money has been put into it in 10+ years. So many other golf courses that one can play.
Friars/Presidio at Riverwalk Golf Club
Played On 08/27/2016Great course near Downtown San Diego
This was our first time playing Riverwalk. For a course so close to downtown SD this one is great. The wide fairways are welcome, as well as the receptive greens. All the staff at Riverwalk were great. Pace of play was decent, we finished in 4:45 but that included 20 minutes to get our food at the snack bar. Does it really take 20 minutes to get 2 bagels?
Singing Hills Golf Resort at Sycuan - Willow Glen
Played On 08/06/2016Sycuan: Best Greens in San Diego!
This was our first time playing the Willow course at Sycuan. This course is a little more difficult than the Oak, has more hazards and more hills. The greens here are the best in San Diego, maybe outside of Torrey Pines. The Fairways are green, but the drought hasn't been kind to them, this is expected though.
Pace of play was unreal - we played in 3:15 as a twosome. We could have played in 2:45 but we caught a group on #10. They were fast for walkers though.
Mission Trails Golf Course
Played On 11/14/2015Busy Saturday - Slowest 9 holes ever
We were there on Saturday November 14th, for our 11:00 a.m. tee time. We didn't manage to get off the tee until 11:15 or so.
We proceeded to wait on every shot... it was so irritating, that we just left after 9 holes. Which took 3 hours to play. We didn't even want a rain check, as it isn't worth the irritation of a 6 hour round of golf. They put too many people out and it causes backups.
On the bright side, the greens were some of the best we've experienced in San Diego.
Salt Creek Golf Club
Played On 10/17/2015Great course, can't wait to return
Salt Creek was a great course. Both my wife and I loved it. Conditions were wonderful, and the greens are a DREAM to play on. I didn't play it like a links course, but you could if need be. Fairways were wide, and not that punishing if you missed them due the an abundance of hazards both left and right.
Only issue is that the group behind us cut in front of us on number 10 when we went to grab a snack. Pace was a bit slow, but that is what happens when you tee off at noon on a Saturday.
The bunkers are not good, so try to avoid them
... and we can't wait to see you again at Salt Creek Golf Club! Glad you loved the course and the scenery and conditions. We have informed our staff on pace of play thank you for letting us know. We hope to see you again!
Chula Vista Golf Course
Played On 10/10/2015Greens are great, value for $
This course has great value for the $ you spend. 2 Green fees including a cart was about $70. Can't beat that. Greens are great, esp considering we are in a drought. I'd play here again.
My 2 star rating was all about value and course condition. The greens are usually top notch at this course, but there was issues with almost every one. A fungus or something else. As a result, it made it not overly enjoyable, and certainly NOT worth the $95 you were charging at the time. Having played this course almost every month for the last 2+ years - the greens were in the worst conditions I've seen. I would play again, but not for the $95 green fees, unless the greens can be vastly improved
