Greensmere Golf & Country Club - Legacy Course
Played On 08/02/2022My Favourite!
I have been playing Greensmere for many years. The course has grown better and better each year since being built in 2010. Excellent pro shop and wait staff make sure you have everything you need for the day. Legacy (and its sister course Premiere" are always in fine condition.
With 5 sets of tees, the course provides a challenge for the best of golfers from the tips at over 6800 yds. or from the reds for the beginner players at 5375 yds.
A starter sits at the first tee on each course from 6AM to 6PM and both courses are marshalled all day every day. Well managed severe weather protocol is also in play. The horn blows with lightning threats and the course is monitored and cleared within 15 mins.
Thunderbird Golf Club

Wife and I are members here. The longest hole is 143 yds and the shortest 89 yds. Eric and the crew keep the tees and greens are in excellent shape. Many undulations on the greens make it a challenge even for the low handicapper. The bunkers are okay but as with many in the region they need a different variety of sand - way too firm.
No bar or restaurant but there is an awesome pub (Cheshire Cat) two minutes down the road (with Gluten Free options!).
Take the kids and have a great family outing!
Smuggler's Glen Golf Course

My nephew from Kingston meets us here once a year. We drive the 1.5 hours from Ottawa. Fantastic and challenging course but not for $82.50 (power cart included). Tees, fairways and greens are in excellent shape. Bunkers were not manicured until about noon the day I played (although there was heavy rain the day before).
I can play some great courses in Ottawa for about $50 (Greensmere Legacy, etc..).
