Fox Hollow Golf Club
Played On 07/05/2020Average course with a fair price
For the price of $23 for 18 holes and cart, it is hard to beat. I will warn that the cost comes with some issues...
1. Fairways are not great. Spotty at best.
2. Front 9 is an odd layout
3. Hole 3 is the worst hole in the south central KY area, the green is too small and slopes too much for the approach shot.
4. Hole 5 is a par 5 with a tee shot that requires you to hit into the face of a hill.
5. Hole 9 requires x-ray vision as tress block the view of the green most of the time
6. Back 9 is the better 9, but has a few quirks (mainly the 80 yard par 3)
Overall not an awful course but a cheap track to play if you are looking to get reps in.
Barren River Lake State Resort Park Golf Course
Played On 07/25/2020Lacking attention
While the fairways and rough are in fantastic shape, the tee boxes were butchered and need to filled in and moved more frequently. The greens were also in poor shape. Too many rough spots and divots are horrendous. At times it appeared that the greens were too wet as they appeared to be over watered.
CrossWinds Golf Course
Played On 07/08/2016Way overpriced for what it is
Crosswinds used to be one of the best courses within the city of Bowling Green. Recently though the course has increased the greens fees to an amount that is not worth the price of play. The course has a very bland layout. The greens are tricky with slight undulations that are hard to read at times.
The biggest issue I have seen other than price is that the staff has a hard time keeping the course in good shape. You would think with the pricing that the course would be able to maintain solid conditions for a majority of the year, but that is not the case. The fairways tend to struggle from time to time and take months to grow back.
If you are playing in Bowling Green you would be better served to play another course at a better price.
Rolling Hills Golf Course
Played On 06/13/2015Slow play, but in great shape
The course is in fantastic shape. It is a great value for the course. The only issue us that they need some rangers to deal with slow play. We had a foursome and a threesome right in front of us (young kids) played extremely slow and never let us play through. It took us 5 hours to play 18 due to this group.
Bardstown Country Club - Woodlawn Springs Course
Played On 06/14/2014This course holds it's own
There are some really great options for golf in Bardstown and Woodlawn Springs is definitely in better shape than it was the last time I played there. The fairways were a little spotty at times, but the course is in overall great shape compared to surrounding courses. It's a great price for a good round of golf.
The Pines at Lindsey Wilson
Played On 06/01/2014Great course for a great price!
The course is in excellent shape. The fairways have a few spots in which the grass was slightly shorter than you would hope it would be and there were a few bare spots, but this course is in much better shape than other courses in the area. This is a great value play for what you get!
