David L. Baker Memorial Golf
Played On 08/14/2021Get a Marshall, please
We had a tee time before 8:30 on a Saturday. We got there on time, but they were already backed up, 4 groups deep. For a course of this size on a weekend we we expected to play about a 3-4 hour round. Well, it ended up being 5+ hours. Super frustrating. Help of a marshall would have been good. Probably won't be back.

Played On 02/21/2021Good value. Fun round.
It's a shorter course, but there's a variety of challenges to make it interesting (water, elevation changes, forced carries). The course is in pretty good shape considering it's February. The pace of play can slow down and bottleneck behind occasional slow groups, but we played through and never waited again (18 holes in 3 hours!). Most of the people who play here are pretty friendly and considerate, so that's a plus too.
Shout out to Jojo in the proshop - good guy. Super friendly and totally on it!! This was only like our 4th time here in months and he remembered us - impressive. He gets 5 stars!

El Cariso Golf Course
Played On 01/24/2021Fun course
The top two cons are that lots of golfers here don't repair their ball marks on the greens and there's water, which means there a lot of duck poop on some holes. But aside from that the layout is interesting enough and you get to use most of your clubs. No super long holes that might be intimidating to some golfers. Plus we were able to finish 18 holes in 3.5 hours on a Sunday and had a fun round. We'll be back!
El Cariso Golf Course
Played On 12/06/2020Decent course + Great pace = Good value!
We had a pretty fast round today: 18 holes in about 3 hours! (Shout out to the very cool, considerate guy who let my hubby and I play in front of his threesome!) The course itself had interesting layouts, some water, elevation changes, and forced carries. (Oh, and since there's water, there's lots of ducks, geese, and their care packages they leave behind... just watch where you step.) It appears that the grounds keepers do their best to take care of the course, but players don't repair their ball marks on the greens, etc. Overall, fun round!
Harbor Park Golf Course

It's a bit far from home, but we tried out this course to get to cooler weather (and get away from all the smoke from the fires in the foothills). Glad we tried it out! It's a pretty well kept 9 hole course. We were able to go right out even though we arrived a little early. The pace of play was pretty decent considering it was a Sunday (we finished in 2 hrs 20 mins). It was a little pricey for 9 holes + a cart, but worth it for the cooler weather, good course conditions, and steady pace. Even though it was a bit of a drive for us, we'll probably be back.
Marshall Canyon Golf Club
Played On 12/29/2019Great value. Hidden gem in the foothills.
Marshall Canyon is a nicely kept course that is good for a variety of golfers of varying skill levels. The course offers a good mix of layouts and challenges, which allows you to use most of the clubs in your bag. Plus, it makes you feel like you're away from the city since it's nestled up in the foothills and has wild deer that just roam around - pretty cool. And last but not least, Seth in the pro shop is a friendly, accommodating employee - he gets 5 stars!!
Thanks for leaving us a review, we're glad you enjoyed your time at Marshall Canyon!
Marshall Canyon Golf Club
Played On 09/15/2019Great course! Excellent value!
This place is a gem and a great value overall! Green fees are really reasonable for 18 holes
+ a cart. We can get out and play as a two-some most of the time and the pace of play is quick on most days, even weekends. The course offers a variety of layouts (elevation changes, dog legs, rolling hills, forced carries, etc.) and lets you use most of the clubs in your bag. We definitely recommend Marshall Canyon and look forward to our next round here!
Fun fact: This course is home to a pack of deer that just hang while you play - it's pretty cool!
Thank you for your wonderful 5-star review and recommendation! It makes us happy to hear how much you enjoy playing Marshall Canyon, and we look forward to having you back!
Thank you for your review.
