Dove Valley Ranch Golf Club
Played On 10/29/2017DVR worth the Rewind
Great RTJ Jr layout with pure rolling greens and friendly staff. Challenging but fair and you will use every single club in your bag here.
Ventana Canyon - Canyon Course
Played On 09/17/2017Great Track
Expansive layout intertwined among nice houses, beautiful scenic views of surrounding mountains and of Tucson.
Greens were perfect and suer slick! Rewarded for good shots and punished as you should be of you stray. Take advantage where you can score and be happy playing station to station in other spots.
NOTE: Drive all the way up to the hotel and park clubhouse for golf wrapped around first small building on the right and then you have a pretty long drive to first tee depending on where you are starting and which course.
The Views Golf Club at Oro Valley
Played On 09/16/2017Good Times at The Views
From arrival to the time I left The Views my interactions with the entire staff were great.
What hidden gem up in Oro Valley. The Views lives up to its name as a majority of the holes give just that.
Course conditions were good on this course that used to be private and has a lot of members. So if they have tee times available for outside play I suggest you jump at the opportunity.
Catalina Course at Omni Tucson National Golf Resort & Spa
Played On 03/15/2015First Time At Tucson National
Excellent conditions on an extremely windy day in Tucson. The greens are FAST and the green complexes/hole locations were very tough.
Played in 3.5 hours which is refreshing in this day and age when rounds can extend an hour or more longer.
Enjoyed the layout and the members I was paired up with.
Staff was very friendly & helpful.
Will be coming back to play again when in Tucson.
Faldo at Wildfire Golf Club at Desert Ridge Resort
Played On 06/14/2014WILDFIRE NVER DISAPPOINTS
We had seven players from our regular weekend group that headed to play this past weekend on the Faldo Course. Most of us had played there before and always enjoy it. One in our group who is rather picky about courses stated "really enjoyed the layout and look forward to playing it again and checking out the Palmer side." Not overly difficult as you are rewarded for placing your tee shots in the fairway. Some long par 4's and the course played longer/shorter with the swirling winds on Saturday. All in all a great day of golf. Nice Pro Shop as well.
PGA WEST Greg Norman Course
Played On 04/04/2014Love It
Second time playing this Norman lay out. Always enjoy it as it is different than any other course I play.
No rough in the fairways and if you miss or roll out into the "hard pan" into the natural vegetation or traps = TROUBLE.
Beautiful views and in excellent condition.
A must play for anyone in the area.
Friars/Presidio at Riverwalk Golf Club
Played On 6/25/2013Love this place
During my vacation to San Diego I played this course twice and had the opportunity to play all three nines.
Enjoyed the courses a lot. Best duo to play is Presidio / Mission.
When in the area you should stop by and check it out.
Greens are perfect.
Palmer Course at Wildfire Golf Club at Desert Ridge
Played On 6/7/2013Fantastic greens
I had not been out to visit Wildfire in awhile and played the Palmer course on this day. Course was in terrific shape. Greens are some of the best I have seen in the valley this time of year. Fairways had a lot of soaked spots and you could tell where people drove through them because you do not realize it until you are on top of them. Other than that everything was perfect. Keep up the great work.
Monument at Troon North Golf Club
Played On 5/25/2013Always a fun challenge at the Pinnacle Course
Headed out for an afternoon round on the Pinnacle Course. It had been about a year since my last visit and as always it does not disappoint.
Conditions were very good all through the entire course and the greens rolled fantastic.
Play was fast until we made the turn. As we were only a two some the ranger should have had the group in front of us let us pass. They seemed oblivious to our existence even after I brought a club to them that they had left. O well no biggie.
The Legacy Golf Club
Played On 5/12/2013Forgot how nice it is....
I had not been back to the Legacy in over 5 years and I can say it will be much sooner that I will be back.
Friendly staff and excellent playing conditions.
The greens are outstanding and the golf maintenance crew are doing a heck of a job.
A must play for any golfer.
Poston Butte Golf Club
Played On 04/20/2013Wish it was not so far away from where I live.
Good lay out. Very forgiving, but challenging.
Greens roll nice and the pin placements could really be tricked out in some places with large traps protecting them or big slopes.
Hole #17 (island par 3) is just cool. Always like playing holes like that.
All in all a good day of golf.
Golf services people are very friendly and helpful.
Lookout Mountain Golf Club
Played On 3/27/2013Great Views
Like the lay out and it is challenging from the tips.
Greens / pin placements were tricky.
Play was slow, but no worries enjoyed the views.
Camelback Golf Club - Padre Course
Played On 3/23/2013First Golf services
Pace of play was outstanding this past Saturday afternoon as our foursome never really waited and things moved nicely. Always nice to play in 4 hours or less.
The staff at Camelback is fantastic. I can not sat enough about the level of service and how friendly everyone here is. I wish more course would embrace the hospitality provided at the facility.
The course itself is in great shape and the greens were pretty slick with tough pin placements.
Really enjoyed the afternoon.
Stonecreek Golf Club
Played On 12/8/2012Always a good day at the Creek
This past Saturday at Stonecreek was as always enjoyable. Pace of play was great considering they had a tournament that went off in front of us earlier but once they were done we played in just under 4 hours which is always nice.
Course is in good shape. A few spotty areas, but all in all good.
Love the new sand in the traps around the greens.
Greens were rolling true and fast.
Orange Tree Golf & Conference Resort
Played On 10/27/2012Not What It Used To Be.......
Having grew up on this golf course and as I get older I have seen the changes over the years and as my headline states.....this place is not what it used to be.
The course came out pretty good from the overseed, but still has some greens that have never recovered from not this past summer but the summer before that.
The staff is pretty stiff but nice enough.
Charging people for range balls that are there to play is ridiculous especially your players in your "loyalty program."
Patio and bar staff not overly friendly and as nice as the new bar is I never really see anyone in there reall ready to serve you.....
Bev cart girls are extremely nice and the rest of the golf staff could take a cue from them.....
I have always enjoyed the course and still do. Value wise it is good, but the attention to detail in years past is gone.
The day I played there was a tournament in the morning and the trash receptacles at each tee box were overflowing and had trash laying on the ground......I mean come on. How hard is it to send someone out to pick up are this group? I figured we would see it the first few holes since the group just got done, but no one lifted a finger to clean up the course.......
Pine at McCormick Ranch Golf Club
Played On 10/07/2012Nice Course
Always enjoy playing either course here at McCormick Ranch but I am always somewhat put off by some of their staff. Maybe it's early in the morning and they are not awake but i always feel like I am getting the cold shoulder.
As for the course (Pine), is always a fun test with its tree lined layout and strategically bunkers.
#15 is one of those holes you could have nightmares about, especially with any sort of wind. Demanding Par 4 that requires your full attention and respect!
Legend Trail Golf Club
Played On 10/06/2012Coming out of over seed....
The course was recently opened back up after the annual overseed. The day we played nothing had been cut. So the fairways were like rough and the rough had grass that could strangle a giraffe.Greens were very slow as well.
That being said I look forward to returning and playing this track after everything cut and the carts are off the path because it was GREEN GREEN GREEN. I bet the place looks fantastic right now.
Always enjoy the place.
Staff in pro shop is not overly friendly but nice enough.
Golf services staff are nice kids and I was even greeted by one at my car because they noticed I had my bad out and was putting my shoes on so he came by and picked up my bag.
TPC Scottsdale - The Stadium Course
Played On 05/16/2012Great Layout
TPC Champions provides a fun and pretty challenging day of golf especially in the wind.
Similar to Longbow you get somewhat of an air show with the different airplanes flying into Scottsdale Airpark. Pretty cool if you are into that sort of thing.
Some very neat holes at the Champions Course where risk/reward will make you think.
Golf staff was very friendly as well.
JOEB211 - Thank you very much for giving us a 5-star review. This is great and truly appreciated! We strive to make sure every guest has the best experience possible from the very moment they arrive until the time they leave. So pleased to read that we have met that goal here. We are very proud of our views and love the fact that we get to show them off to all players. They never seem to disappoint. Looking forward to seeing you on the greens again.
