A must stop and play with my brother whenever I’m visiting Baldwin county Alabama. As usual the staff was friendly, even as they were preparing for a major event later that day. Got a bargain on greens fees with coupon. I love the layout and the conditions were great except for a couple of the bunkers this time could’ve use a little work. Will stop again next time I’m in the area.

After 15 minute frost delay, we were able to enjoy this great layout. The greens and tees were in mid-season shape. Greens rolled true and with good pace for early March. Fairways were still mostly dormant but very playable. Every staff member we met were very friendly and wanted to ensure we had a enjoyable time. Some holes have water to carry on 2nd shots. Signature hole #17. Green bunker complex looks like Clemson Tiger Paw logo.
We did stay and play and had great room and it was a very good deal.

Late season rate $15 w/ cart. 18 hole course west of Grinnell. Rolling hills with several blind tee shots and a few blip greens,. Small greens that roll true. 4 set of tees, #16 green is most unique- wavwy from side to side want to be in right section of waves or you will have mini-golf putt. #17 don't be long. Good condition and would play again.
Club has 2 indoor golf simulators for off season or poor weather.

Only had time for 9 holes.2 groups had just gone off the first hole so Pro shop mgr asked if we wanted to play back instead of waiting. We gladly played back. Very hilly and 30+' elevation change on a few holes. 3-3's, 3-4's + 3-5's. Most holes were down wind or dead into wind. Only flat holes were par 3's. Glad we took a cart, big hikes between holes and elevation change too.
I'm guessing it is usually windy, Had a special price to pay, $1 / hole playing.

When I told friends I was playing here I was to expect a great course. It is a great layout but was disappointed on what I found. Checked in and pro shop staff as very friendly, Was told we would start on #10, no problem there. The reason (that we were not told is the front 9 had some greens being punched - NOT TOLD THAT). Went to practice tee and it was all divots or crabgrass. Found a lot of grab grass to tess too. No bunker maintenance for days and rough was 6+' tall. Will explore other Omaha/:Lincoln courses before going back,

Used Iowa PGA booklet. Free greens fee with cart rental ($22)
Par 35. 2 par 3's, 6 par 4's and 1 par 5. Shorter par 4's but trees come into play if you stray off the fairway. 4 holes with 40' elevation changes, (1 & 5 downhill, 2 & 9 uphill) #6 Par 3 across a river. Medium size greens that roll true. # 7 & 8 play along the river. Worth a visit.
Awarii Dunes Golf Club
Played On 09/20/20161st time playing, not the last
Have wanted to play for a few years since Engh re-do. Worth the wait. Huge greens with 3-8' of elevation change on some greens. Typical "blow out" bunkers in fairways and green side. Fairways in great shape. Generous fairways with the windy conditions that are usually present in rural central Neb. (about 10 mi from Kearney)
The course is split. Front 9 across the road from Proshop and back nine on same side. The only draw back on pace of play was that a foursome was allowed to start on back 9 in front of my wife and I. We waited on every shot for the first 3 holes on back before they allowed us to play thru.
Only courses in NE I like better is the Prairie Club 2 courses. Better than Wildhorse or Bayside.

First twilight tee time @ 1:30, followed 3 tee times of regular $ gamers. First 5 some got done in under 4 hrs. The 2nd group was the slow 5 some 4.5 hr + and last 4 took their time because the group in front backed the whole course up. The fairways were lined with mounds but often had players from other fairways in our fairway. Huge greens with a lot of slope but were tracked up pretty good by the time we played. Course was busy today, which is good.

Played On 09/08/2016Great day of golf
Course was in great shape. Lush fairways, very quick greens with subtle breaks. A couple of shorter par 4's that you can take a shot at to drive. One par 4 on front what is a big carry over water to a blind fairway- kind of quirky.
Would play again if in the area.
