BraeBen Golf Course - Championship
Played On 05/30/2021Great Day to Golf
Course is fun to play. Keeping the ball straight is key. Tall grass that lines most holes is a lost cause for finding your ball. Walking is challenging and amounts to about 60 floors with the ups and downs. Number 7 par 3 is nasty and best to just try to aim for the left hand side just short of the green. Greens are in good shape and run true. Would definitely play this course again.

Only second time I have played this course with the new layout which I like compared to the old one which included the crazy 10th hole which required hitting through an apple orchard. The course is hilly with many ups and downs. We walked which is a physical challenge. The view is great. The greens were quite slick one having to be careful to not run puts 10 ft. by. Course is generally forgiving in respect of errand tee shots.

Course is close to where I live and round was inexpensive. Staff are friendly and they still had on course service which many resorts have abandoned. Conditions were great and they had moved the tees forwards to give us not so long drivers a chance. The regular white distances are quite challenging. Only issue was the two in front of us who has likely just attended golf school and were taking forever to play each shot. Couple I played with were pleasant.

Challenging course with not too many easy holes. 9 and 18 are their signature holes and making par on either requires a careful approach. 7 is an easy drive with a approach into a narrow green virtually surrounded by water/hazards except for one side. The on course service is good as well and staff are friendly. Prices seem to have come down so you are getting good value for your money.
Carlisle Golf and Country Club - East/South
Played On 07/12/2017I like the facility and the fact they have 3 nine's. I was not enthralled with the East course but warming up to it. Still prefer to play the North/South as a 18 hole option. Last time I played the North was under maintenance; not sure why. Second last time I played the Starter was somewhat acrimonious when we showed up 2 minutes before our tee time and indicated we were late and had sent off two foursomes who were booked after our tee time. Gave us an alternative which was OK.
Thanks for the feedback. Will send over to Rob our Golf Pro.
