Beau Rivage Golf & Resort
Played On 03/26/2018Nonsensical Design / Diabolical Greens
Played before the fairway grasses had begun to bloom, but the course layout was clear: gimmicky with lots of houses practically in play.
Additionally, why in the world would you have greens at a course in a high tourist zone with a stunt meter over 12??? Hole positioning on the side of steep grades doesn’t make for an enjoyable experience in vacation.
Lastly, the positioning of the range was also on the side of a grade, having clearly not moved the hitting area in months (so mostly dirt).
For $60 on a weekday in March, NOT a good value.
Too much competition within 20 miles. Doubt I’ll be back.
1757 Golf Club
Played On 04/30/2016Great practice facility, industrial views & busy roads on course
I like the practice facilities very much, and near the clubhouse on pleasant afternoons it's a festive atmosphere (cocktails and live music on the patio).
Note that the chipping, pitching and sand practice area is FOR MEMBERS ONLY.
The course is bunk, however. The course is surrounded by massive power lines, busy roads and industrial buildings. Once away from the clubhouse area, the view is not pleasant.
Additionally, there is water in play on almost every hole, sometimes in unfair locations. Unless you are a single digit handicap, you will be frustrated.
I suggest a massive investment in mature trees around the perimeter and drying our ' filling in some of the water elements. That won't happen, so I'll just go to practice.
