Foxcliff Golf Club

Like this course but it appeared the greens hadn't been mowed in a while and were really slow. The fairways were a bit shaggy too. Its a nice layout and with various length tees you can get all you wish. The gas carts are a bit old and there is some difficulty getting the brake to stay in the depressed position. That all being said, depending on what you pay, its a good golf experience. They have a senior discount rate M-F of only $28
Eagle Pointe Golf & Tennis Resort
Played On 11/05/2020only one problem
It was Nov 5 and there had been no attempt to remove the leaves that had fallen on the course. This made finding errant shots really difficult.
Further, one maintenance guy continued to mow around the green as we putted, acting as if he didn't see us. Very distracting and all agreed that it was rude. I'm sure the guy was hourly so what's the big rush ?
These isolated temporal issues should not keep you from playing this course however. Just venting a bit.
Hidden Hills Golf Course
Played On 09/04/2018Serene, challenging, rural
If you can score a hot deal here, you're in for a treat. The course starts a bit slow, easier, uphill and downhill but the back nine is a fun twist and turn of tricky holes with good visuals and some opportunities to score. There are more blind shots than you might be happy with but that brings you back because you'll think you can score better the next time. The greens are in good shape, don't get much play at this out of the way location, but can test you well. Give it a shot, you Chop !
Hickory Stick Golf Club
Played On 01/26/2018A Links Test
This is a really good golf course unless you like trees. Open, generally windy with large undulating greens that will test your putting as well as chips to. The fairways are generally wide and accessible with fairway bunkers that resemble those on an Irish Links. Even in January the greens were reasonably quick. And added bonus, its fairly easy to find a wayward shot here and there isn't a lot of heavy vegetation just off the fairways. Recommend this to you. The 3 finishing holes provide a stern test with plenty of water.
The Links at Heartland Crossing

This tract is great and the course is in good condition, contrary to some of the older reviews I've seen. Its eminently challenging and tests your sand game and iron accuracy to the max. One downside...by the 7th hole we had to call for an different electric cart as the battery was down. Same thing happened with the other cart by the 11th. By the end of the round the third cart was about to die. What's up with all that? Perhaps all batteries were purchased at the same time and all are now on their last legs? Anyway, would play again.
Pfau Golf Course at Indiana University
Played On 07/19/2017While you have a chance
Indiana University will be completely revamping this course. Its suffered from poor management and oversight for years and finally the athletic department, somewhat shamed into it, has plunged some 12 million into its renovation. As such, you have little time to play this course as it was originally designed. As it is, its a great track to play, heavily wooded and serene. You'll not be bothered by traffic or condos on your out of bounds shots. The greens are large, generally sloped from back to front, very few bunkers and no fairway traps. The only distances designated are 150 yard rocks of limestone. The new greenskeeper seems to be doing a great job. The emerald ash borer is taking its toll however and hundreds of ash trees in the vicinity are dead or dying. No water hazards but the rough can be penal. Some blind tee shots and uneven lies should be expected.
Stone Crest Golf Community - North Nine
Played On 04/28/2017Excellent round...golf
Stonecrest has a lot to offer. First, it has 27 holes so you need to come here more than once to get the full experience. You can make big numbers here, as there is plenty of water and trouble, but lots of opportunity as well. It's a remote location and during the week the course is generally not crowded, the pace of play is fine. There are a few holes here that will test the very best players if played from the back tees. The greens put true and have subtle breaks that force you to pay attention to the lay-of-the-land. There are at least a dozen lakes you can get it wet in, so take enough balls.
North/East at Otter Creek Golf Course
Played On 03/08/2017somewhat disappointed
You'd expect a round here to be great, but the original back nine was closed and the new nine, the east, had little sand in the bunkers and since it was march, the greens as you'd expect were pretty bumpy.
Nevertheless, at this price you can't beat it. The greens will challenge even the very best putters, its RT Jones afterall.
