Play this course often for a number of reasons but mostly with so many choices in the Phx valley area, it continues to maintain a good value in the peak season in the desert. Many thanks to the manager of the course, Andy for personally making sure all golfers are welcome.

Orange tree is a go to course, always tee times available, always competitively priced. We have friends that span the valley and Orange tree is centrally located and offers good value, good layout for the price. Unfortunately, there are many non-golfers that play, likely due to the resort that should be informed as to pace of play, 4- 4.5 hours is very acceptable. Slow play is likely, so plan on a 5 to 5 1/2 hours, which is not acceptable. Although Marshalls are present, the log jam is sometimes painful. Normally, playing with ready golf players, with mid to low handicaps, it can be distracting. Normally play 10 - 12 times per year, just guessing.

Playing Red Mountain is always entertaining and either you play well or you don't. Adding a strong wind with some hefty gusts, made it even more trick. Grass transition is pretty much done and fairway grass is in good shape, greens were very slick and hard to hold, but with the greens contours the ball would run very true. Good outing once again.

Being close to work, I have been using the range for years but have not played the course. A week ago we took a Friday afternoon wellness break and played the course. We were pleasantly surprised especially the greens which we found to be very interesting with all the contours but ran smooth. Large trees and a stiff breeze provided some shelter from the 103 degree temperature. We did a repeat this Friday and played much better with a little course knowledge.

Played the course for the third time in two weeks and conditions have gone from early over seed conditions to the perfect greens and great fairways. Stay out of the rough and you will enjoy the round on this mature course. Brand new carts too! Only drawback is limited practice facility.

I continue to be amazed at how well Papago is maintained with excellent fairways quick greens and no burnt spots. Although there were a good number of trees down from recent storms, the course itself is in great condition for this time of year. Stay out of the rough, the Bermuda will suck up your ball and wrap up your club. Looking forward to a club house!
