It took us 3.5 hrs to play 9 holes. Management over booked tees times for (2) large groups and regular players (like me) who play their consistently we’re not considered.

After 9 holes I got a rain check to finish another day. I understand slow play happens but this was way over the top and inexcusable.

Very disappointed and mad that we regular golfers were basically thrown to wolves so DUbsdread could feast on their larger groups instead of telling regular golfers the truth.

Sunday play was disgustingly slow. Management over booked tee times and they several large groups that were in play as well.

At one point it 30 minutes to play 1 hole. I was so angry, I had get a rain check to finish my round.

I’ve played this course year round and I cannot believe management let this happen. 3.5 hours to play 9 holes.

If it ever happens again, I’m finding another course. I don’t appreciate how it was handled.

Let me start by saying this course has a ton of potential to be excellent. That’s the good news.

The greens are horrible. Scattered with fungus, dead spots and just not manicured at all. The sand traps are filled with weeds, no rakes, old hard pan sand & trap edges are raggedy.

Fairways are crammed with weeds, overgrown with Bermuda grass that is turned into a matted mess. They didn’t even cut the fairways low enough to find your drives. They were just disgusting. The fairways blended into the rough. Just horrible.

Tee boxes haven’t been mowed in a week or more. The overall condition was just bad. I mean really sad!!!

Do not waste your time or money.

1st time playing this course. I’ve lived in Orlando for years and never got to play SC. I highly recommend it! Great layout, greens were in great shape (a tad slow) but overall greens were really nice. That’s hard to say this time of year in Florida on most courses right now.

My cart petered out on the 4th hole fairway and they were out in less than 10 minutes to replace it.

The course very fair and fairways were nice and generous in wide. The par 3’s were challenging (especially 17th). It was a great day. Even the cart girl was frequently coming around.

Go play Shingle Creek. It’s fun and challenging!

The course was as good as I have ever played it. I’ve played this course 80+ times.

Pace of play was good and the company was excellent.

I’ve played this this course at least 50 times under different conditions. I always enjoy coming here. This course is always fun to play and with the great staff, Dubsdread rarely disappoints.

It’s a gem in the middle of the City and it’s value is hard to beat. My only complaint is that the slow play is a constant issue.

I highly recommend this course and always stop in the restaurant for burgers and brew! They never disappoint!

I’ve played this course at least 50x and I continue to play it again and again. Love the layout and enjoy everything about the course.

My only complaint is that I wish the ranger would get on foursomes that play too slow or player teeing it up from the tips that are clearly shouldn’t be playing this way. The ranger never show up and round was way slower than it should be.

Other than that, DB is a great test of your short game.

2nd time playing this course. I like the layout wit fits my eye and game. The greens were nice but inconsistent in speed. 3 of greens were inundated with large patches of weeds and fungus.

Several of the fairways were burnt and very hard. But the upside was they provided lots of roll.

This course is trying to make better and it’s a great value for your money. Practice area is excellent. Made a tee time for 11:30 and got off at 11am.

It’s a fun and pretty challenging course. Once they get their act together on fairways and getting the greens rolling more consistently, this course will be a gem.

Definitely will return. I suggest you play it as well.

1st time playing there. I enjoyed the course and the greens rolled nice. The fairways were cut short and decent roll afterwards. The tee boxes were very shaggy! The layout was a good challenge and fun to play.

The service at the clubhouse was lacking any friendliness at all. He never said have a good game or glad to have to here! No starter was non existent and it was a free for all at the 1st tee.

Upside was the course was nice and day was a lot of fun. The layout is fair.

Let’s start with fantastic practice facilities. Just the best. The course in general was in great condition. Greens rolled to solid 11 on the stimp meter.

Fairways were cut low and gave additional roll. Really nice. The entire course was in great shape. The only thing I have issues with is the collar’s around the greens were spongy wet and collect or plugged every ball it touched. Absolutely no rolls through the soggy collars.

Loved the course. I played my lowest round this year. Shot a 84 with 2 double bogies. Fun course and the tee shots played to my fade swing.

Go play it. You’ll really like it.

1st time playing here and will not be my last. I loved the layout and quality of the facility. Staff was great and greens were excellent shape. The negative was the pace of play. 5 hrs to play 18!!! I’m a 10 handicap and I was paired with players of significant higher handicap. Plus the 4-some in front of us were high handicapers as well.

Today’s play was painfully slow and I lost my mojo to play on. Although the group I played with were great but they absolutely killed my day and my quality of my play. For a Tuesday afternoon, I couldn’t believe how slow the play was.

However, the course was fantastic and I will make course my go to now. Fun and nice layout. Wide fairways and pretty fast greens. Watch out for the deep pot bunkers!!! I mean really deep.

It’s a must play!

Although DD is a short course but don’t let fool you. Tight fairways, small greens forces you play your A game if you want to score low.

Conditions were excellent, some slow play, but the greens rolled trued and were in great shape. Need to strategize and execute your game if you have one.

Super soggy. No roll out on driver shots and puddling everywhere. Just swampy and no fun. Need to work on drainage issues. Slow play…slow play! Next …. Very weird layout. Never played a course with 6-par 3’s. 2 were back to back. Number 1 handicap hole was a par 3.

Only used my driver 2x on this course. That’s a 1st. Could not use the range because it was under water! Greens were slow but rolled nice anyway. The staff service was great.

Probably a nice to play in the winter and spring. Definitely not in the summer. I’ll try again when the swamp dries up.

This course has tons possibilities of being really great. Nice design, greens rolled nice and fairways were generous. The sand traps were a disaster, grass in fairways had no roll at all. It was muddy and the ball plugged. The strange thing is that Kissimmee has not received any rain in days? I could only imagine if they got a lot of summertime rain. The fairways would be a mess.

In the 1st cut of rough, there were 6inch diameter holes on many of the holes? I couldn’t figure out how or what they were. Pace of play was really bad! The group in front of us had 5 people in it. 4.5 hours to play! That’s totally messed up. The ranger could care les and blamed on the group in front of the 5. I know they want make $$, but come on! This course has a lot going for it but they need to get serious about tightening up their maintenance and stop the stupidity of grouping 5 to a hole.

1st time playing here. I was really happy with the fairways, greens rolled nice, traps were fair and the layout was pretty challenging. I did not like the tee box grass. It wasn’t mowed in 2 or 3 days. . Tee ball was barely above the grass.

The course rules are quite militant. They made real point on no coolers but offered no cart service while playing. That really sucked. I brought my own water and snacks anyway. The service at check in never mentioned the greens flag color designation. Blue pins in back, ECT.......none that information was listed in carts or score cards. No starter to give out any additional information either.

The practice greens rolled like the course greens. That’s really refreshing for a change.

Overall, the course was very nice and fun to play. Service was just ok and didn’t really go out of their way to inform or welcome you.

While vacationing in St. Augustine I decided to play this track due to previous reviews. I was not disappointed!. From the moment I arrived, thru-out the check-in, getting range balls and general friendliness, this course was excellent.

As a single player, the Ranger quickly moved me to the front of a tournament and I was allowed to play alone. The course was really fun and the greens were rolling pretty good. Some of the greens had some patches of weeds but did not impact the pace of the ball rolling too much.

I liked the how the pins were set up. (3) colors red, yellow, & blue. Each determined were the pin was placed, ie: front, middle & back. It was helpful & accurate. Check your scorecard .

The fairways could have been cut a little lower to help with ball out. However, the course was fair & difficult. I shot 80 from the white tees and I felt I left shots on the course due to unfamiliarity of the greens.

Overall this course is very nice, great course management, challenging to play but fair, super helpful staff (including the cart girls).

I'll definitly recommend this location and I can't wait to come back & play it again. Great job St. Johns GC

First, let's get to the course. Played 1st 9 & the course was soggy & the greens were severely slow. I adjusted my putting stroke to accommodate the slowness of the greens. On the 2nd nine, we were inundated with pouring rain for 45 minutes that stopped play.

This made the course extremely soggier and walking on the green surface was like walking on a huge sponge that literally squished water out as you paced around to figure out where & how to sink a putt.

Management has to figure out a more efficient way to drain off the excess rain. I expected better conditions and got nothing but plugged balls & a disgusting level of ponding water even in bunkers. Wasted green fees & time today.

2ndly, I knew there would be a spectator cart fee. Most honest golf courses would post the fee in advance. However, the deceptive nature of this left me very upset. This outrageous amount needs to be posted on their website in ADVANCE!

I expected a reasonable fee to pay & most courses charge $10.00 to $15.00 but not $25.00 I told the check-in person that the fee was not posted on their website & he argued with me saying was. Guess what....it's not!!

Although I like the layout a lot, However, I doubt I'll be back soon. I feel their policies are actively deceptive and management seems to be clueless about how to drain excess water away from playing areas furthers my belief that they are not looking out for the regular golfer.

Anyone who asks me about this course will receive my honest assessment.

I always enjoy playing this course. Love the layout and it challenges all my weaknesses.

I played this this course 5 weeks ago and the greens and course was was a mess.

The general playing conditions on Sunday was much better. The greens were rolling out nice but WAY TOO slow.

No reason that I have use 25% more effort to roll the ball toward the cup. I hope this is corrected soon.

Always enjoy playing here! It’s a good test of all facets of your game.

I really like the layout a lot. Never played it before and will again. Good value. Course needs continuous improving. Greens unusually slow but you see that they are working on it.

The service was excellent and helpful. The carts were on their last leg. Markings on fairways where sparse but those that were there, were accurate to the middle of green distance.

This course is old school on green design and size. So bring your 6 iron thru wedge games here.

Very nice layout but needs a lot real maintenance from tips to greens. But definitely worth it and will test you!
