Sevierville Golf Club - River Course
Played On 10/05/2019SCR
Great layout. Lots, and mean LOTS of water. Back nine has a few holes with blind shots off the tee. Greens are large, undulating, fast. It is part of two courses, Highlands is the other, Part of the Wilderness in the Smokies hotel. So, you can get behind some real hackers that play slow and do not know golf etiquette. If you can dodge being around them then this is one of the best place to play.

Tremendous course to work on your short game! From the tips holes are any where fro 90 yards to 220 yards. Greens are extremely fast and undulating. If you are looking for a country club setting this is not the place. University of Tennessee golfers use the course a lot . Easy to walk or ride. A four some can easily play 2:20 to 3:00 hrs.

Great location in west Knoxville across from Fox Den Country Club. It was the original course to host the Knoxville Open (one the PGA's sub tours). Greens are bermuda and very fast. Lots of hills and creeks. Need to play it a couple of times to adjust your game off the tee. Each year they have difficulties with a couple of low laying fairways.

Tremendous course. Lot's of elevation changes....some as much as 3 club differences. Large, fast greens. 7 blind shots off the tees. Fairways are in great shape. Club house.....well not much of one. Good driving range. Walking is possible but not advisable. Lots of tournaments are held there.

Expensive course that lays on the west side of Sugarloaf mountain. Some tremendous views. About half the holes are hilly , but fair. Greens and fairways are always in tremendous shape. Only negative is the cost to play.
Sugar Loaf The Old Course

The "Old Course" in Leelanau County...first 18 hole course. Lots of up and down hills. Course winds it way through some cherry orchards, forest. Greens are very fair and very undulating. My favorite course for the money in the Traverse City area. Watch out for hole 17. Long par five that finishes with an uphill shot that requires 3 extra clubs. Bring at least a half dozen extra balls until you learn where to hit or layup. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful!!
Northport Creek Golf Course

Newest course in Leelanau County. Just north of the village of Northport. Nine hole course that is relatively flat. Easy to walk. Playing it twice is usually available. Staff is very friendly. Perfect place to go play while the wives.... (excuse me on this) go shopping or to get that quick little break when the grand kids take their afternoon nap.

Private golf course with great views of North Lake Leelanau. On the hill in Leland. Course is short and very narrow. Greens are very small and moderate speed. Staff is extremely nice!!! Must be an invited guest to play. Easy to walk.

Greens had just been verti-cut. A couple of the fairways showed the stress of a cold wet winter Holes 15 and 16. Overall the course is in great shape, It was fun to play. Like to see a ranger on the course to encourage a faster pace /or allowing groups to play through slower groups.
