SBR is a very playable (read: not penal) course, usually in good shape. The advice here is simply to be aware that it is often cool and windy at "the ranch" and you would be smart to throw a couple of extra layers in the car so you are prepared for variable conditions. We weren't... and shivered through an otherwise enjoyable round.

Worth getting up early for with temps headed into the 90s. The course is in very good condition. New greens are firm, but not necessarily fast. Tight lies around greens and off fairways. Good POP and well-stocked pro shop.

A lot to like about this course - well-organized bag drop, interesting routing thru the quarry, fairways and greens are in good shape. A few dislikes - lack of driving range, traffic noise on holes near I-10. Tees need tending and bunkers aren't great - but better than many local courses. Takes a few rounds to learn the reads and rolls. Worth the price on a hot deal!
Canoa Ranch Golf Club
Played On 03/26/2023So much to like about this course, beginning with the friendly guys pulling bags from your trunk and loading carts; we're not used to this kind of service! Course is well-conditioned and challenging. Traps are treacherous and detract from an otherwise stellar golf experience.
El Conquistador Golf & Tennis - Conquistador Course
Played On 03/24/2023The course is well-conditioned and fairly priced. Overseed holding up well despite funky weather; greens showing soma stress, but roll true. Bunkers are beautiful (compared to most muni courses in Tucson)!

Always enjoy playing this course - interesting layout and lots of (tee) options. Course conditions, however, are not what we remember. Greens are inconsistent; traps are treacherous. Overall, a bit scruffy.

Love this layout. Staff is super-friendly. Still totally baffled by the failure of golfers (assume most are members or locals) to repair ball marks on greens. It wasn't quite as bad as last time we played here, but still shows a lack of respect for the course and fellow golfers - and I don't think you can blame this one on "less experienced" golfers who don't know any better. Painfully slow POP on a Saturday afternoon, but prolly on par with what we paid.

San Ignacio Golf Club
Played On 11/07/2022Care-less golfers!
Within just a couple weeks of overseed, the number of ball marks on greens is astonishing! Do the players here just not bother to repair? Does management not recognize they have an issue and try to address it? This is a nice lay-out and otherwise in good condition, but the golf experience is compromised by care-less golfers who don't bother to fix ball marks.
Hi, rickthestick! Thank you for leaving us with your feedback. We value our customer experience, so your review is important to us. We will make note and we hope to see you back at San Ignacio Golf Club!
Arizona National Golf Club
Played On 04/18/2022Love the layout at AZ National but golf experience has been variable over the years due to ownership/management issues. Even with Troon in charge, issues remain. Waited on every shot this time with no course marshal in sight.

San Ignacio Golf Club
Played On 02/02/2022Non-starter...
Despite a cold, blustery day, we enjoyed our first loop around San Ignacio GC -- thanks to Bob and Mike for sharing their local knowledge. Good layout with some great views. Large, speedy greens -- unfortunately badly marred by care-less golfers who neglect to repair ball marks. Biggest issue was the starter, who offered a few tips for first-timers by sitting mask-less in the cart next to my wife -- and then pushed us out 20 minutes AHEAD of our tee-time (so much for the range token I just purchased). When I objected, he said the other option was 25 minutes AFTER our tee time. No real explanation of why. Based on other reviews, SIGC clearly has a problem here that they refuse to acknowledge or address.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. Thank you for the 4 stars! We aim for a 5-star experience, so we always welcome feedback for improvement such as the experience with our staff. We apologize for the negative experience, but appreciate. your positive remarks about the course itself. Please reach out if there is more you'd like to share or if there is any way we can improve this situation for you. Thank you for playing San Ignacio Golf Club.
Silverbell Municipal Golf Course
Played On 01/27/2022Exceeded expectations
First time around this venerable Tucson track. Layout and course conditions exceeded expectations. Impressive practice/warm-up facilities. Staff could use some coaching on communication skills. We didn't hear about the 90-minute frost delay when we checked in at the pro shop -- the starter shared that news. Fortunately, they were mostly caught up by our original tee time.
del Lago Golf Club
Played On 01/24/2022Bad day at the beach
Interesting layout and impressive course conditions with one glaring exception: The traps are unplayable -- at least they were for me on this day. Quality of sand/conditioning are the issues. Starter said course has budget for improvements, but sand is in short supply due to demands of residential development. Still one of our favorite courses and well worth the drive to Vail.
Hello, thank you for visiting us at del Lago Golf Club. We appreciate your 4-star rating and review. We hope you join us for another round soon.
Fred Enke Golf Course
Played On 01/21/2022Pleasant surprise
Overall positive first impression despite waiting on almost every hole. Course is in decent shape although showing effects of care-less golfers (divots. ball marks, traps, etc.). Front nine is flat and fairly mundane, but the back nine features elevation changes, imaginative layout, and a concrete cart path that elevates it above Muni status. For first-timers, course map on scorecard is helpful, but better signage is needed - especially on front nine where cart path often meanders through the desert. Staff was friendly and courteous - especially gal driving the beverage cart. This is what excellent customer service looks like!
rickthestick, thanks for the amazing review and for choosing del Lago Golf Club. We hope to see you again soon!
