Long story short. I had my 7yr old daughter with me. The PGA "pro" chuck little was rude from the start and demanded $5 for her to ride with me. Every course we play in the area always welcomes the kids and they let her play for free if I paid for myself. Chuck got wind and came out and saw my daughter hit a ball then pulled up to her demanding that she pay $55 to play any further. He was so rude to her she started crying. His response when i said see what you did to her was "it's not my problem or fault". Called his boss today another PGA "pro" Matt Gotto and he was defensive rude to was not in anyway during remorse for the way my daughter was treated. He then said he was busy and literally going up on me. KIDS AREN'T WELCOME THERE.

Course is in great condition. Only setback is the cart paths and they don't have much in ther snack bar, but that's bit a deal breaker here. It's a short track with some difficult holes. Shot shaping will play into this layout. I'll be going back and I would recommend this course.

It's an old course in which the greens r always green, even in December and they aren't
Painted.yeah it could use some touch ups but I always enjoy playing the course.

Played the course today and the staff was great minus the ranger lol . After the first hole noticed the greens were infested with crab grass 80% of the bunkers were washed out . Was like they were placed where the rain drains . 18th hole had bridge washed out . Needs a lot of TLC . Had they mentioned the condition we wouldn't have played there . $40 way over priced considering the water damage .
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Often times customers do not express their concerns following a round and we do not have the opportunity to see them. Regarding the course conditions, the Matthews area was hit with over 11.5" of rain on Wednesday and Thursday of last week. These rains flooded the area to the point where many roads and golf courses were closed on Thursday and Friday. We decided to remain open even though the heavy rains had completely washed away multiple bunkers, including the biggest bridge on the golf course. The staff has been working around the clock to get the course back to a playable condition. Since your round the day after the heavy storms, we have repaired all of the affected bunkers and the course has dried out. As it turns out, the bridge cannot be simply fixed on 18, so we have started to completely rebuild it. That bridge will be finished this week and the course will return to the exceptional conditions it has seen all summer. Thank you again for your comments and we look forward to seeing you again soon! Rock Barn Golf and Spa - Jones Course

Played the Jones course first . Was awesome played the best golf of my life . Challenging especially some of the par 3's from the higher elevation points . Would recommend this course and will play it again . The best thing if u have enough time is to finish the day on the Jackson course not quite as demanding but I'd allot of fun . The turn around fee $20 . Worth it .

All I have to say is I've played the course 3 Sunday's on a row and well play again next Sunday . The staff is super cool and super nice . It's one of the best courses in the Charlotte/sc area ! If u haven't played it yet u need to .

Played Pinetuck again and best thing about this course is no matter time of year it is the greens ! Always Perfect and well kept . Green as can b and that's without paint And chemicals lol . Awesome old course . Definitely recommend .
Edgewater Golf Club welcomes junior golfers, and we have reduced rates for juniors in the afternoon. Children under the age of 10 can play for $10 after 3:00 with a paid adult. Golfers age 11 -20 get reduced rates beginning at 12:00 each day, and a greater reduction in price after 3:00. We called many public golf courses in the area to see if our policies are in line with others, and they are. Not one golf course allows children under 10 to play in the morning, free or otherwise. You booked on a busy Sunday morning at 7:30 as a single with a threesome that was already on the tee sheet. You checked in and said your daughter was just riding in the cart with you. This is a game that requires honesty and integrity, and if we are to pass this game on to future generations, we need to set a good example and follow the rules. By your estimation, courses only support junior golf if they let you sneak your daughter on for free.
