Late start, slow play, and poor greenside bunkers

This was the second time I've played this course ( previous 2015 ) so I knew it was not worth anywhere near the asking price prior to 1PM of $99 or more. When we arrived we were not notified of the tee time delay of 15-20 mins due to the morning apparently having 2 bachelor parties on the course that slowed play even more than normal. At our tee time I asked the bag staff where we should go to start the round and were then told we had to wait. Once we started play was slow as we waited on every single shot for extended periods. The greens and course were ok, however as I remembered the greenside bunkers were terrible ( at best) with minimal brown dirt vs sand and extremely hard base ( almost concrete). I wasn't expecting tour level sand but something playable would be expected. We decided after 4 holes we were done at 9. The front 9 took about 2:10-2:20. At the turn we let the bag guys know we were leaving and without whining to them they explained the situation and let us know to see the shop for a rain check for the remaining 9 which was a nice gesture. We were just going to write the day off as a loss. The staff all around was very friendly and helpful ( 5 stars). The practice facility is sub par as well. It's basically a putting green and a 150yrd range. I was hit in the leg be a skulled chip on the putting green by a hack who was practicing chipping while 6+ people were standing on the green warming up. There should be a no chipping sign or a separate area.

Great track

It is worth the drive to play. The course came out of overseed in good condition and while a few greens were still recovering from summer heat stress, everything else was perfect.

Driving range was a little wet and muddy ( not the usual) and staff is helpful and friendly.

My wife really liked the course and while there are 2-3 par 4 layouts I'd change (4 iron off tee) it's fun.
