Coyote Creek Golf Course
Played On 09/02/2019Father/son day
When you can play a round of golf with your adult son it makes for a great day and that we had.
Waterlefe Golf & River Club
Played On 01/15/2018Water everywhere
Waterlefe was recommended to me and I will recommend it to others as it is almost a "must play" if in the St.Petersburg, Bradenton, Sarasota area. Excellent course that will challenge even the best golfers out there, especially from the back tees.
Temple Terrace Golf & Country Club
Played On 01/11/2018Florida vacation
The entire staff at Temple Terrace country club were very acvomdating and pleasant from the pro shop to Jason the attendant that greeted you after the round, and offered his suggestions of other courses to play in the St. Petersburg area which was in fact my final destination. Greens were especially good, fairways still in less than ideal condition but overall an enjoyable round of golf.
Flatirons Golf Course
Played On 11/26/2017Late fall golf in Colorado
When the opportunity to play a round of golf at the end of November with 70 degree temperatures and little to no wind in Boulder you take it. The course was in average condition with a few of the teeing grounds netted for the rest of the season but the greens were in very good condition given the time of year and were lightning fast, but true. The course was full but the pace of play was good, taking slightly over 4 hours to complete 18 holes.
Meadows Golf Club
Played On 11/25/2016Day after turkey
Excellent conditions, course and weather plus pleasant company made playing a round of golf a day after Thanksgiving just one of the many reasons living in Colorado special.
Bella Rosa Golf Course
Played On 06/19/20162 circuits
Since Bella Rosa is a nine hole course I took two circuits of the course which was very helpful in figuring out the layout of the holes as many require strategic placement of your drives from the teeing grounds, making this an enjoyable challenge.
Colorado National Golf Club
Played On 01/19/2015Pace of play too slow
Due to the very deliberate play of a foursome two groups ahead of us and the cart path only rule that was in effect the pace of play was agonizingly slow - taking over 5 hours to complete 18. Course conditions were typical for mid January with greens being on the rough side and bunkers were either wet, frozen or not raked. However it was still a great day just to be able to play a round of golf in January.
Heritage Eagle Bend Golf Club
Played On 12/13/2014Unbeatable winter golf weather
First time playing the course with two nephews who are good junior golfers themselves and we were not disappointed. Weather was a little breezy. Had a little trouble determining yardage as stone markers in the fairways had been removed. Bunkers had exceptional fine sand making escapes much easier but shame to the individuals who do not rake the bunkers after hitting out of them. Greens were in surprisingly good condition for the time of year. And 18 holes were played in just over 3.5 hours with carts. Would be a tougher course to walk with distances between greens and next teeing ground and the terrain which was noticeably hilly.
Thorncreek Golf Club
Played On 11/29/2013November golf in Colorado
In spite of it being the end of November, the course was in fine shape and the greens were receptive enough to hold your approaches (though it was apparent that many before us didn't repair their ball marks causing the greens to play like mine fields). Pace of play was a little slow but there were many golfers taking advantage of the warm weather conditions. We did get a full round of 18 in so I'm not complaining.
Antler Creek Golf Course
Played On 10/25/2013Worth the trip
I've had Antler Creek on my bucket list for a long time and finally got the opportunity to play the course and was fortunate enough to play with a local who knew the course well and helped guide me through the challenges that even the blue course offered. To play the gold or black tees one would have to be at the top of your game, especially with the driver. Being late in the season the greens were only in fair shape due to earlier aeration and sanding. The greens would be tough enough under normal conditions. The course has plenty of bunkers and hazards to keep you honest. A great challenge to all levels of golfers.
Heather Ridge Golf Course
Played On 10/7/2013Ball placement is the key
Not having played Heather Ridge before it quickly became apparent that accuracy in ball placement is the key to scoring well on this relatively short course. Bunkers were in need of some grooming and fresh sand but the fairways and greens were in decent shape for this time of year. Best part was completing 18 holes in just about 3 hours, starting at 9AM and getting done before noon.
Flatirons Golf Course
Played On 10/2/2013Course is recovering nicely from recent flood damage.
The course was in surprisingly good condition considering the recent flood events in September. There were still some wet and matted spots around the course but very playable. Fairways were cut very short leaving some tricky tight lies especially around the greens. Pace of play was a little slow for a mid week early afternoon but still finished in about 3.5 to 4 hours. Course even provided a discount coupon to entice one to play again soon. All in all a pleasant fall outing.
Coyote Creek Golf Course
Played On 8/2/2013Try it you'll like it!
Staff very friendly and accommodating. Course was not busy and was able to play 18 holes in 3 hours. Worth the drive from Wheat Ridge to Fort Lupton.
Eagle Trace Golf Club
Played On 7/12/2013Played fast and well.
The course was not very busy so the starter let me out earlier than my appointed tee time of 12:30 as a single and I was able to play eighteen holes in less than 2.5 hours with a cart . That is how I remembered golf to be when I started playing over 50 years ago on a small municipal course in Ohio.
