Disappointed

I reserved the first tee time for Sunday, July 7th. However, there were 2 groups that went out in front of me, even though the first tee time was 7AM and the groups left BEFORE 7. I was told that those groups have had a standing first tee time for the last 5 years. I was disappointed that my reserved time was not recognized by the course and that i had to play BEHIND 2 groups. Both groups had walkers, which really slowed the pace of play. My playing partner and I skipped a couple of holes. Those 2 groups played TOO SLOW. We played 16 holes in less than 2.5 hours. What is the point of setting a tee time and paying a fee for the privilege????

Slow Player

I played with my daughter on Saturday the 12th. We were behind a foursome who would not let us play through. The twosome in front of them would be 2 holes in front of them, and still they would not let us through. One person in the group took 40 seconds (timed) to set up EACH shot. I realize that the pros get 45 seconds to set up their shots, but this guy was no pro. PLUS, he would get down on one knee on every green to line up his putts. The group was IGNORANT!!!! And to dispel the misconception that women golfers are slow, my daughter was taught to play ready golf AND she also plays on her college team. It took the 2 of us over 5 hours to play a course we have played in less than 4.

This isn't a golf course review. We are here for course reviews not a review of the time you played it with your daughter and had one bad group you did nothing about other than time them...

Tee time setup....why bother?

Set a tee time for the first of that day(7AM). I was part of a twosome. When we got there, we were told to let a foursome off before us. The foursome did NOT have a tee time for this day. They definitely knew the person at the front desk. We were told that they play fast. They did play fast for a foursome, and were finished in 3 hours 15 minutes. My golf buddy and I altered our play to ensure that we did not bump into the foursome. We usually can play this course in less than 3 hours. We finished the round in 3 hours 20 minutes. What is the point of setting a tee time if the people at the course allows a group without a tee time to go first?

Cours Good

The course was in decent shape. Very tight fairways and very small greens, making accuracy and not length very important. The downside was playing behind a very slow 4-some. I was in a 4-some myself and played the front nine in less than 2 hours. We caught up to the 4-some leaving the tavern and they proceeded to tee off before us, even though we were coming off 9 and moving directly to 10. It took 2.5 hours to play the back nine.

Disappointing

I received an email for a $45 round for this course. That was a good deal since their normal price for a round on a weekend morning is over $80. A friend and I took advantage of the offer. However, the club did not warn anyone until you were there that it was cart path only. Additionally, they had just aerated most of the fairways. Ball plugged with every drive in the fairway. And the cart paths are not always next to the fairways. The cart path rule made no sense in that the course was dry except for a few places in the extreme rough. This made pace of play very slow. 4 3/4 hours for a round of golf, and we really weren't waiting on many holes. The cart path rule slowed things down considerably. It would have been nice for the course to let golfers know of the cart path rule and the aeration in the email notification with the special.

We are so sorry for the miscommunication about the cart path and will make sure this information is noted along with the special. We appreciate you taking the time to write a review about White Clay Creek and hope you'll give us another chance in the future!
