If you want excellent greens, atrue natural link fairways then this is the course for you, easy looking opening hole but much straight hitting needed on many holes. Greens are always in good condition and have many hidden breaks and crowns.

Course can be tight for holes 9 to 12 so need to keep eyes open but if you play as I do during the week, this is not a problem. New ownership making improvements; club house is excellent.

Met a couple of members who were very friendly and welcoming as indeed was the Pro in the shop.

For the fee I payed , outstanding va'ue and enjoyment.

Played this course 5 times over the past 3 yeras and always find it enjoyable. The welcome is always friendly and the amenities good. Unusually the pace of play on this occasion was slow but to you play on a Saturday (change over day) the course is practically empty.

Only negative comment is that there are small patches of fiairway missing on the first PAR 5 which seemed to be used for turf ? This has been the same each time I’ve played the course,

Overall another excellent enjoyable day’s golf.

Played this course several times and it is a fun course to play, Challenging holes but forgiving enough that everyone can score well. Condition in places was odd in that big squares of turf has been cut out the fairway answer the first two holes were surprisingly wet !

For the $27 dollars paid, this was a great day out.

Will definitely go back again

Having paid $10 dollars on the two rounds I’ve played at Deer Island you might be mistaken in thinking that the course could be might be lacking in some regard.

How wrong ,

From the friendly Pro and his partner who also run the bar , the two visits both in 2017 & 2018. This time we were accompanied by our club Pro who could not believe the quality of the course, the layout and design of the holes and the overall challenge of the golf course.

This really is a gem of a course and worth the travel. Often the course appears as a Hot Deal .... take it !
