Fred Enke Golf Course
Played On 04/08/2024Rugged Desert Golf
The title is a compliment. The course is naturally cut in a desert layout, and has lots of challenges. Shots wide of fairways will usually be punishing. Greens were in great shape. Will return on next trip to Tucson.
Quail Dunes Golf Course
Played On 02/01/2024Always Easy Going
Friendly staff, always accommodating. Some temporary greens; all greens sanded. No crowds or pressure on weekdays. Great Value course. Cart path only for time being.
Twin Peaks Golf Course
Played On 01/29/2024Fred Enke Golf Course
Played On 01/10/2024First Timers
Played here for the first time while on vacation to the area. Played with two brothers from the area. A frost delay of two hours had a lingering effect into the afternoon, so we were delayed a half hour. Course is very interesting with lots of ups and downs and forced carries. Conditions on the grass areas was very good. Driving range was also expansive and balls were reasonably priced. Enjoyed our round and will play again when in the area. Thanks Todd & Brad for helping us navigate the course!
Quail Dunes Golf Course
Played On 11/22/2023Friendliest Course in NoCo
The staff is the friendliest and most accommodating in Northern Colorado. They always try to make your round pleasant and always thank you for playing there. On Thanksgiving eve they were getting carts in early so staff could leave early; they called us the day before to notify us. They allowed us to tee off early so we could finish, and started groups on one and ten to facilitate smooth play. That’s customer service! Course had some temporary greens and some sand on all greens as winter protection. It played great.
Eagle Pines Golf Club
Played On 05/24/2023Good Value
I visit annually from Colorado, and have found Eagle Pines to be a great value. I play with someone who doesn’t play regularly, so we use our phone GPS to set up par 3 lengths on the holes. Makes it a nice warmup and allows me to figure out my clubs’ yardages at lower altitude than I normally play. Lady at check- in was very nice, and maintenance crews were respectful when they were near us during play. No, it’s not Bandon Dunes, but I’m not Scottie Scheffler either. 😄
Quail Dunes Golf Course
Played On 05/20/2023Nice Day
We usually don’t play golf on a Saturday due to overall busy courses. Quail Dunes had some midday openings so we played here. Grass was lush, a bit longer than normal here. As in other reviews, some large fairway bare patches on certain holes - winter must have been rough. Staff always very friendly; good value on pricing. Saw one turkey feeding on the course.
Coyote Creek Golf Course
Played On 05/09/2023Steady Course
Course was in good condition. Greens rolled nicely. Some bad spots in fairways, but not overly so. We didn’t find them to be a big problem. Some cart path replacements were finished and were a nice improvement; others are in process. Staff always hospitable. A good value course which is rarely booked up during the weekday, allowing for a relaxing round.
Mission Inn Resort & Club - Las Colinas Course
Played On 03/20/2023Final Vacation Round
We ended our vacation with a round at Las Colinas. Gentleman at bag drop was enthusiastic and efficient. Starter was engaged and got us off early. Weather was outstanding, mid sixties and sunny with light breeze. Course in pretty good first day of spring shape. Green #7 not so good, with outside rim grassless. Bunkers were full and raked. We enjoyed the drive between holes which are lined with trees, wetlands and beautiful greenery. Played a nice leisurely 4:20 pace, with no pushing or being pushed. Got the senior rate of $62 through course website which was reasonable. Be back next year.
Black Bear Golf Club
Played On 03/17/2023First Time
Wife and I played Black Bear for the first time. As described by many, this is a course with wide fairways and small greens. All grass areas were in good shape, and bunkers near greens were filled with soft, fluffy sand. The great bunkers were appreciated since there are many of them on the course. I liked the green sizes as this makes for some real target golf. Nick in the pro shop was very friendly and got us off a little early which we appreciated. Will definitely play again when in the area.
Coyote Creek Golf Course
Played On 02/27/2023Open for Business
Coyote Creek was open following a few weeks of snow. Course conditions were good for the time of year; grass was dormant, greens were smooth and had a bit of green paint added to allow visualization from fairways. Great to get out there!
Stoney Creek Golf Course
Played On 02/21/2023Open for Business
With all the snow in Colorado this winter, Stoney Creek was open for business, one of very few. The course was very playable, with dormant grass in all areas. Great weather day with temperatures in the sixties. Staff is always friendly! Good course for a quick round of 18.
Mad Russian Golf Course
Played On 04/07/2023First Timers
Played the Mad Russian for the first time. I had heard about it for many years, but never got out there from Loveland. Staff was very nice; George the starter was great giving us an overview of the course. The layout incorporates all the natural slopes, lakes, wetlands, and small canyon areas into the course. Lots of ups and downs and side slopes on the fairways, which make it interesting. Played with someone who knew the course well, which made things easier to navigate (lots of cart path crossings) - thanks, Dan. Greens have subtle sloping, making good green reading a must. We will definitely play here again and recommend giving it a try.
Royal St. Cloud Golf Links - Red/White Course
Played On 03/08/2023Great Value
We were visiting family in the Orlando area, and decided to give Royal St. Cloud a try. The course is a great value in the area, and playing conditions were good. Friendly staff got us oriented, and we were very fortunate to play with two locals, Rick & Farley, who showed us the course ropes. They tolerated our play which was not so great that day. Thanks guys! Weather was fantastic. Would definitely play here again.
Twin Peaks Golf Course
Played On 10/20/2022Good Pace
Greens in very nice shape except for unrepaired ball marks. Leaves starting to make finding your ball challenging if you get off the fairways. Pace of play was good today.
Coyote Creek Golf Course
Played On 10/13/2022Relaxing Round
Play was relaxing on a beautiful day in Colorado. Course was in good shape, especially the greens. Work is underway in some fairways to improve grass conditions. Always a good value and usually not crowded on a weekday.
Boomerang Links
Played On 08/15/2022Consistently Good
It was our first time playing the back nine after the modifications. The turf is great and I like the design of the new/modified holes. The greens were in great shape ( with the exception of unrepaired ball marks - come on golfers, repair your marks!). As always check-in was friendly. The rain came in after 9 holes, and they issued us a rain check for the remainder of the holes.
Ranch Golf Course at Pole Creek Golf Club
Played On 07/20/2022A Creek Runs Through It
Our first visit to Pole Creek. We were warmly welcomed by Laurie, who led us to a parking spot in a quite full parking lot. She left us the cart after telling us where to check-in and location of putting green and driving range. Later, we ran into her again and she asked if we had found everything - excellent customer service!
We played the Meadows/Ranch nines. The course was in good condition in all areas. The creek that runs through the course, jumped out and grabbed a few of our golf balls.
We finished the day by having lunch at the course restaurant and we’re very pleased with the food and service there. We had a GolfNow Hot Deal which made the rate quite reasonable.
Coyote Creek Golf Course
Played On 07/15/2022Family Outing
Denver courses were all booked for the time we needed on a Friday. Two were first timers to Coyote Creek, the other two were familiar with the course. We all had a tough day playing the course, but certainly not the course’s fault. The two seniors in the group got a free lunch coupon, which was unexpected. It consisted of a turkey wrap, chips, cookie and fountain drink - very nice! Course conditions were good, and play moved along efficiently. Good value for the dollars.
Coyote Creek Golf Course
Played On 07/15/2022Consistent
We’ve played Coyote Creek multiple times over the years. I find it to be in a consistent condition with really nice greens. The sand traps have been reworked and are now filled with sand. Still a few bad spots in fairways, but much better than earlier this season. The cart parking area has been paved which is nice. Hopefully the next improvements will be to the cart paths which have multiple holes which fill with irrigation water, leading people to go off the paths and create muddy ruts. Will certainly play here again.
