Cost $83 with cart today. Pace of play good and course in good condition.

One of my favorite public courses. Short but still some challenging holes. Quick pace of play during the week (weekend can be long).

Greens are in excellent shape, if only people would fix their divots to keep it that way.

Some bare spots in fairway but overall course in great shape.

Decided to pop in for a round despite the ash and smoke. Course was in excellent condition. Challenging but a little easier second time playing. Greenskeeper put pins in tough spots but will definitely be back

Overall a decent place to play. Challenging layout. Fairways with some bare spots and front 9 cart paths could use some works. Bunkers firm.

Best part were greens which even though recently aerated, rolled well.

Play here often. #2 is certainly focused on less by the course overall. Fairways burnt out in many places during recent heatwave. Greens overall still good but you can tell aeration is coming. Tee boxes seem to be becoming less even. Bunkers well manicured.

One complaint: They send a cart girl to #1 despite it making the turn at the clubhouse. Whereas #2 crosses road and the snack bar is closed.

Overall the course is in good condition. Fairways mostly intact although some bare or burnt spots. Bunkers well maintained. Greens in good condition, were soft and forgiving. Tee boxes ok and level except for 18.

Great pace of play. Sub 4 hour round.

Overall the course was in decent shape. Greens were incredibly soft with no roll and some still with aeration holes. Fairways were mostly intact. Bunkers awful. Tee boxes overall OK but rarely flat - felt I was hitting with my feet above or below the ball far too often.

Course layout is good. Challenging but fun to play.

BUT - the pace of play was the worst I’ve ever encountered. And that says a lot considering California courses with 6 min tee time spread leads to 5+ hour rounds. People yelling in backswings. Essentially the nightmare for lack of golf etiquette all around.

Shockingly played 18 in less than 4 hours even having to wait on the crew ahead of us at every hole.

Course mainly in good condition. Some parts of the fairway burnt. Greens in good shape and very quick. Bunkers well maintained.

#2 more wide open and a little less challenging than #1

Overall one of the best public courses in LA if you don’t mind the drive out. Carts are GPS/score tracking. One of the few courses played recently with level tee boxes. Some bare spots in fairway but minimal. Greens were pristine.

Layout is difficult. Need to play strategic and straight to be in good position.

Pace of play was never a problem. Sub 4 hour round.

First time playing #1 after many rounds on #2. Much more narrow. Pace of play pretty good with the extended time between tee times for social distancing. Single rider carts didn’t seem to be a problem. The GPS and scorecard features of the carts is very handy.

Weather as gloomy and wet which may have influenced even slower play. Took all of 6 hours to play as every group is a 5-some. If you’re not in a hurry, this is my favorite course in LA.

Greens a little bumpy due to recent aeration. Otherwise Fairways were good. Some tee boxes felt a little uneven but overall good condition.

Layout: narrow fairways with good mix of sand. Scattered water.

Pace of play was excellent for a Saturday morning.

Overall this is a decent course. The conditions are average with most of the greens in good condition at this time of year. A MAIN COMPLAINT IS HALF THE TEE BOXES ARE UNEVEN. So many tee shots are hit with your feet below the ball. The course also is extremely short with a few Par 4s which are average 250 yards mixed in with a majority of Par 3s. This course could honestly be played with only wedges.
Otherwise, there are some amazing views from the elevation of the mountains.

We played Vista Dunes. This course was in excellent condition. From Tee box to fairway to green it was one of the most well kept courses I have played in the area. Would recommend it to anyone. We got stuck in the rain for about 30 minutes and that couldn't even ruin the round. Only one hole (16) was cart path only because of how soft it was. That hole still played awesome and is probably their signature hole with a semi-island green.

Have played this course many times and have never really been disappointed. But they have made many many upgrades and the course was even better than expected. They are doing a great job. Definitely worth the money!

Enjoyed the layout and location on the beach. Course was in horrendous condition. According to the employees it was "just treated." The greens were sandy and even if not sandy were patchy. Fairways were decent in most areas but were also patchy. Many areas couldn't even tell a difference between rough and fairway.
Would never recommend this course to anyone. Way overpriced and not even close to good condition.
