I love this course. Unfortunately it is showing sign of age and neglect. A lot of the neglect comes from the caliber of payers too. So many times I see players not having good course etiquette. "Respect the course and help Take Care of the Course". Tearing up the fairways , not driving where the should. Par 3's with cart path only. And they won't observe it. They need marshaling Bad.
The course it shelve need some major upgrades. Cart Paths especially. When you let a course run down. The caliber of players don't care either. The better courses in Tucson, restrict the payers entry from the tee boxes to the fairways. del Lago is the wild west drive the carts anywhere you like. del Lago needs to put up ropes and barriers to preserve the course. Here is the two yr. Plan. Shut down one side (9) holes. Do an overlay of fresh asphalt. Put in cart barriers for the fairways. Put in more Trash cans . Some jerks won't use them anyway, throw their beers cans in the bushes. Next year do the same for the other 9 holes. It gets enough play, they just need to put money back in it.

The course is starting to show it's age. The bunkers have always been bad. They said they just upgraded>>>all they did was to put more sand on top of the rocks.
They did a fairly good job of over seeding. There's still a lot of fairways that are in demise. Greens were in good shape.
Just getting old and need some major financial improvements. But all in all, fun track to play

Teeing off 6:45am should not have to turn into over a 4.5hr round.We finished up 11am. We were a three some all about the same golfers 18 -22 hcp. we stayed on top of the foursome in front.

Been playing this course for more than 5 yrs. now. The club house is not going to change, too bad. Never come here expecting a cup of coffee and a sweat roll before a morning round. Let alone a breakfast burrito.
Play during the week it's normal, The weekends are horrible . 5 hr. rounds. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO MARSHALING. .They send out too many twosomes grouped up. that play slow. It been that way the last three times that we've played on weekends NO MORE. Spend more money and go to Tubac. At least there you can get breakfast.

IT's sad to say this. The Preserve is probably one of the best layouts, and beautiful course in Az. I would say easy in the top 10. My opinion. It is just flat gorgeous. The fairways are beautiful and the layout is great. But it rates a big 0 for the greens. I can't believe a course so beautiful can have the worst greens . It sure takes away from your game. You might as well put on a asphalt parking lot. Sorry Even the members don't have anything good to say.

The Preserve could be the top course not to miss in the whole area. . But it's sad they don't have a better greens keeper. Or won't put the money into the greens. Other Robson developments (Saddlebrook) don't have this problem. Why here. ??????

2 things bring the 5 star rating down. The lady in the pro shop is not friendly at all.. Doesn't smile, doesn't greet you, doesn't thank you . Acts if she cared less whether you played there or not.

#2 If you want to eat forget it. Never seen a nice facility that doesn't offer some kind of breakfast. you can't even get a cup of coffee . The restaurant bar doesn't open until 11 AM You would think that they would offer breakfast burrito to go, muffins or something anyway. Even the Tucson city course has something better than this. And I refuse to play the junky city courses.What a waste of a nice facility. The bar tender is great and friendly "Cold Beer" and mixed drinks are good. The food . We ordered a Pecan crusted chicken salad. The chicken was some kind of Processed Meat. Not real chicken. Too Too Bad.

Everything about this course is Fantastic. The whole staff welcomes you and makes you feel special. Other than the beverage cart person /. One Bad Apple She got mad at us for making her wait while we teed off. Not our fault the she drove up while we were waiting. This one person can bring the whole place down. I mentioned it to one of the cart guys when cleaning our clubs and asking how we liked everything. I said it was great except for the cart girl. He gave her the name. Yeah she can be "One Bad Apple" Why would a great facility like this have someone represent them like this. Get rid of the Bad Apple

Course was in fantastic shape. Greens ran true but some real tricky. Score real early on the front the back can take you down. 581 yds. 18th. from the white with a double dog leg blind shots.. I'm an 18 to 20 handicapper. 8 over on the front 14 over on back. too many 3 putts. No lost balls.

We were just visiting the Ft. Myers area and had only one day to golf. Called a golf store (Pro Golf) and they highly suggested this course. Giving traffic it is about an hr north of FT, Myers proper taking the Tami trail.Morning commute can be tuff. The course is in great shape and gives you what you play. My wife and I were teamed with a local couple that are members, they made us feel real welcome. The main draw back is that they push you pretty hard, wanting you to turn the course is less than 4hrs. It's a challenging course and given the fact that you have never played it being pushed is not a relaxing time and throws your game off. We made the turn in less than 2 and the marshall said we needed to pick up play. I feel that they put to many on the course at a time. The club house is not fully functional. No breakfast, and just hot dogs for lunch. Great drinks though. We stayed after the round and they had a happy hour so that made up for no breakfast. Eat before you go and plan on a fast pasted game. Thats too bad nice course you should be able to enjoy it and turn it reasonably in 4:20. Friendly staff . And would return if in the area
