Golf Club at Mansion Ridge

Played On 01/20/2022Not bad but not great
Played this course a few years ago and it was in better shape then. Most traps were beat up, a few muddy tee boxes but good greens. Some holes are in much better condition then others so it’s a little odd.
Oyster Reef Golf Course
Played On 03/27/2021Has potential but overpriced
Fairways hacked up with every divot unattended to. Greens rolled nice but not worth the money. Can get much better value on Hilton Head elsewhere because the course is worth about half the price they charge you for. Pro shop looked outdated.

Hands down one of my favorites. Conditions were immaculate and always worth the money. Plan to club up with wind gusts.
Harbor Pines Golf Club
Played On 10/01/2020Ruined my day
Course is In okay shape. I booked the first 7am tee time and they put two groups on the back 9 so when I got to 10 I was at a standstill. I planned on finishing quick but had to skip multiple holes. When I hit 14/15 they had maintenance working on the greens so I couldn’t see where the flag was and skipped those as well. Bunkers weren’t raked and had rocks everywhere. Will never come back, it’s worth about $50 to play here not $87.
Shingle Creek Golf Club
Played On 12/30/2019Good course at a decent price
Not a bad track. We had a lot of rain the night before so it was cart path only. Fairways were wet but you can see the potential of the course.
Seaview - The Bay Course
Played On 07/20/2019Huge disappointment
Slow play, too expensive, poor cart path, poor tee boxes, and too many bugs.
Wouldn’t even consider paying $80 a round here.
Seaview - The Bay Course
Played On 07/20/2019Not worth it
Let’s just say I play a decent amount of golf but left this course extremely disappointed. Usually I’m in agreeance with reviews on golf advisor and typically do my due diligence, but this one stumped me.
Where to start...
$140 - for a round here is completely unacceptable.
The tee boxes - poor shape with divots, high grass, and off level footing everywhere. You won’t feel comfortable hitting one ball. Okay, maybe one..but that’s it.
The cart paths - poor, plain and simple. I locked up my back a couple times rolling into the never ending pothole country they call a path. I even noticed some gaping holes in the rough where I lost my footing. But it’s okay, that was just a reminder of the mistake I made booking this course.
The pace of play - disastrous (our starter assured us the members ahead were quick and under 4 hours). That was not the case.
The course - Awkwardly, it plays tight on the front with a few blind shots surrounded by fescue. Expect to lose at least 2/3 balls. If you shoot in the 90’s get ready to empty your bag. Even though my cheeks were a bit tight after the front, the back is a different story. A little more open and forgiving but still not up to the standards I expected.
Sprinklers - on one of our holes the sprinkler remained on so we were at a standstill for about 8 minutes so we just watched our box and fare-way get showered on while we melted in the sun.
BUGS - I battled bug bites more than I battled the track itself. I killed 3 bugs within 40 seconds and felt better about that more than my birdie putt.
Luckily, I shot a 37 on the back which gave me a little hope in liking this course. Unfortunately, the damage was done and I quickly realized I would never come back here. Ever.
If the price was $40 a round I MIGHT actually consider playing there again until the reflex instilled in my brain reacted and told me NO so I can actually enjoy myself and play either Twisted Dunes, Atlantic City, or Ballamor.
I play this course a couple times a year. Fun times. I also work at another course. I couldnt help my self in responding to a silly complaint you had. On 7/20 the heat index was 112 degrees. You CAN'T complain about the sprinklers being on for 8 minutes. The super is just trying to keep the grass alive, dude! every course in America would do the same. The sprinklers are set on an 8 minute cycle with the intention that you may hit off grass and not dirt. As for the bugs...youre on the bay! That would be the same as complaining about alligators in Florida. There is an expectation they will be present if the wind blows wrong. the course cant put mosquito netting around the whole place. they cant be faulted for bugs, for God's sake.
