I've played Twin Isles many times. I like the layout, usually pace of play is very good. Excellent practice facilities. This course has some rough spots but overall is still a great play at a fair price for this area. We don't walk but except for the transition from 9 to 10 this is an easy walk. It played tough this day with the wind, love the challenge of #15.

Most times we play Kingsgate it is a relaxed , enjoyable play. Chance to work on short game. The overall condition of the course is usually excellent. On this day it looked like some grow out was being encouraged, hard to see tee markers.
One noticeable change on this day, the White tees were back almost to the Blues. I personally like the course doing this to alter the distance for mid/men handicaps.

The great news, the upgrades to Bobcat/Charlotte Harbour are in full flight. If you're a member you have to be excited by the changes in action. The bad news, it's a construction zone out there.
The front nine is now reversed with the back. And the front (old back 9) is a mess. The other 9 has modest impact but the greens are not good.everywhere.Great news they've gone to 9 minutes between tee times, way better pace of play, congrats on that move.They're re doing all the bunkers the biggest fault of this course for too long. I think it's going to be great, played here lots in the past.
I know they need revenue for all the changes, but sorry I won't go back until it's closer to completion.

Have played this course many times, love the challenge, layout.
Yesterday I played a Twilight rate. We get it, you get what you pay for. But one of the forward groups not only had 5 people but were playing like it was a social. We mentioned it on the course twice, nothing.
When we started they had a starter and 2 marshalls at the turn. The lack of action particularly with 5 people in a group is not acceptable.

Choose your tee box carefully in the wind here. Big factor on holes like 13,17.

Having played here before I can't understand the conditions (still) in some of the bunkers. It hurts the good work on the rest of the course. either make them better or grow them over.

The holes with length at Deep Creek are challenging.
But with 6 Par 3's not your average golf course.

Choosing the right tee box will either add or decrease the challenge of this excellently manicured course. As a senior I played the whites. With the wind up moving to the Green tees and up requires carry on some holes a high handicapper might not have fun with.
