A friend told us about King’s Ridge GC - stressed good value and challenging sand. Played Ridge course - executive length, 18 holes. Played after 1pm so rate was great. Friend’s observation about sand was accurate - generally I’m a good sand player around the green. Haven’t played many courses with so much sand along fairways and bunkers with distance from green - on one hole I wound up in front of bunker furthest from green. I had a 65 yard carry to the green. Let’s just say I took a beating here. Fairways were patchy, but greens were actually pretty good. I’d play here again. Probably the King’s course which looked like better overall shape. Value there seemed good as well. I’d play Ridge if I wanted to get the round in faster or wanted to work on elements of my game. I hadn’t played in nearly 1 1/2 years and had knee replacement a few months ago, so this course was a good way to ease back into golf. Staff and amenities were good.

I played here with buddies about 5 years ago. Course was in much better shape overall. The greens were still fast and good shape ( not as good as I remembered), fairways and tee boxes were ok - just disappointing considering substantial price increase to play. I’d played Fazio at Palmetto Dunes the day before and it was in really great shape. In my mind, I won’t return to Golden Bear until the quality is in keeping with 4+ stars. In my mind it is 3 at best.

Found course in just fair condition. Greens ok-to-poor, tees poor, course needed water. Layout confusing to first time players. Cost me strokes. I’ll play other nearby courses before I return here.

First time playing the course. Initial impression was a fair to good Exec course. But staff in Pro Shop, Starter and F&B servers were all very friendly and professional. Impression started climbing. Got to first tee - it wasn’t great, but allowing for season ... still wasn’t great. Tee shots were all in fairway - fairway was good to very good. Greens looked good, but were actually quite fast and in very good shape. Women enjoyed the fact that they got substantial preferential tee locations. Had hotdogs at the turn - they were surprisingly good. I expect to play this course multiple times over the next 6 weeks that I’m here. It represents good value. I would definitely recommend to a friend.

Booked through GN, decent price including cart. We teed off 20 minutes earlier than scheduled tee time since course wasn’t packed. Tees were fair, fairways poor and greens/aprons fair-ok. Pace of play was very slow - we waited on every shot, sometimes for 5-10 minutes. I doubt I’d play here again, maybe invest a bit more in the round to get better course. I suppose ok for a warm up, get the wedge and putter out a lot. Didn’t hang around after the round.

Course is a bit shorter as reflected in Par 70 rating ( short two par 5’s). Still challenging. A number of holes cross a steam, at the foot of the Niagara Escarpment the terrain is hilly, so some interesting lies if not placing ball well. Club selection can be tricky with some of the elevated greens. Our pace was a bit slow ( one of the group struggled a lot early), so let 4 groups play through during our round ( they were twosomes). Greens were in very good condition, but not particularly fast. A lot of trees have been removed from course over the past 5 years due to ice storms and ash borer infestation, but still quite a picturesque and enjoyable course. A course I like to play with friends who may not be huge hitters, but who enjoy a challenging layout. Definitely play again and would recommend to a friend.

My buddy, his wife and my friend play 9 holes on a very high quality academy course every week. As the season is wrapping up this was our year end game and the girls were anxious to play 18 on a full course. Having played here a number of times over the years, I thought this a perfect location with numerous other activities nearby to round out a great day. Weather was cooler than we expected, but forecasts were off slightly. Course was in very good condition (obviously seasonal maintenance performed in the last month - greens punched - but still good-very good). Played best ball by couple to maintain pace of play - wrapped in just about 4 hours due to catching somewhat slower players on 14 and having to wait to make some shots. Will definitely be back. This is a very nicely maintained course with good amenities for golfers. If you play before the autumn maintenance activities, the greens would be excellent). Value was good (used GolfNow through my Golf Logic app to book).

Greenside bunkers excellent, greens very good to excellent condition (could be quicker to ramp up the challenge level). We play this course any time we stay in Collingwood. Our group includes mid to high handicaps. Value for money was very high due to great GolfNOW rate. We weren't disappointed and will play here again next year.

Started with Cobalt course. In great condition. Greens good. Quick. Some of the greens had interesting breaks. Play slowed noticeably when the groups in front of us were pushing a father and his 3 young sons ( less than 12 ). Still finished at 4:20, so we decided to play another 18. Played Ruby. Nice course. Also in good shape. Shorter. A very enjoyable day. We will go back.

A "must play" course. I really enjoyed the speed and challenges of the greens.
