Great Course - hope to play when dry

This course definitely met...actually, exceeded my expectations, as I had previously heard good things about it, and it definitely delivered. From Chris in the pro shop, who was nice to me, but most importantly, to my young son, who was joining me to play, to the Starter (can't remember his name, but recall he was from Fairfield CT), who actually gave my son a logo golf ball as a souvenir. The course had a great layout, the greens were in great shape and the pace of play was perfect, as we were able to get through our round in just under 4.5hrs. I can't wait to return and play again, when it is dry, as Charlotte had been hit with a lot of rain in the days prior to our playing. I Highly Recommend this course!

Wow...Course is in GREAT shape!

We decided to tee it up at Bryan Park Sunday morning, before heading over to Sedgefield to watch the final round of the Wyndham. Understanding that they had recently reopened due to recovering from winter kill in the fairways, we didn't know what to expect. Well, WOW!! The course is in unbelievably great shape, with plush fairways (cart path only, which is understandable, and totally fine) and greens that are in great shape, and rolling true and fast. After walking around Sedgefield, it felt like we played a championship course in the morning, as the conditions at Bryan Park were spectacular...we'll be making the trip from Raleigh back to Bryan Park again soon.

Great layout and course overall

Enjoyed the course, as always and was glad to have gotten a great rate using the GolfNow HotDeals....can't wait until they complete the renovations on the other course, as I expect that will be even nicer! Thank you.

Not What It Used To Be

Unfortunately, had a terrible experience playing at Lonnie Poole, which used to be one of my favorite golf courses. I've played it several times since it's been open, and even took lessons from Jeremy W, but I have never seen the course in such bad shape, from the fairways being in terrible condition, to the greens (including the collars around the greens being in really bad shape). I provided my feedback to the course via their website, in hopes that I would receive some sort of response/explanation as to the poor conditions, but it's been about 3 weeks now, and no word back. Unfortunately, I will not be returning anytime soon (probably the rest of this year), unless I'm assured conditions have drastically improved. For the price they want, there are too many other options that are in good shape, at the bare minimum, to waste money. Has so much potential, and previously one of the nicer courses around the area...next time, I'll make a different choice (UNC Finley, and I'm not even a Tarheel fan, but great golf course or Duke-even more pricey but always in GREAT shape). Sorry to have to report that LPGC was tore up!

Great Course!

Enjoyed playing this course, as it's a great value and very nice layout, design and course conditions. Challenging golf, but very enjoyable and my golf group had a blast playing Foxfire.

Great course - members played ridiculously slow!

Absolutely loved the course, but having a group on members, including a 5-some playing right in front of us, playing terribly slow made it a challenging round. I would most likely return, but would encourage the staff and starter to ensure pace of play is moving along.

Thanks for playing the course yesterday. We apologize about the pace of play you experienced and we do try to follow the "while we're young" method at SLCC. Please plan a return trip on my nickel and see if we have made improvements in this area on your next visit. Call 910-673-4653 x5 and ask for Mike, I'll look forward to speaking with you. Thanks :)

Excellent Course - Highly Recommend!

Cutter Creek is an absolute GEM! Unfortunately, it's a little over an hour drive for me from Raleigh, but definitely worth it, and I highly recommend for anyone looking for a great course to play.

Nice layout-recently aerated

Looked like they had recently aerated, as the greens were still sandy and bumpy...which, it would have been nice to have known in advance of booking the tee time, as I was not expecting aerated greens and would have been extremely upset had I paid the standard, non-discounted rate. Very good course layout and I'm sure when the greens are in good shape, a very nice course.

Great course, in very good shape

Had an absolute blast playing this course. It has been 2+ yrs since I last played Talamore, and it was just I remember and expected...GREAT course, in great shape. Even with us getting hit with a ton of rain recently, this course was still in great shape and provided a fun time. I will return again if I can get another deal ($25) on GolfNow.

Nice course

This course was in really good shape, and the greens were perfect, rolling fast and true. Outside of the 1hr drive from Raleigh, everything was great about the course, and I expect I'll probably return again next season.

Nice golf course-still prefer Cape Fear National

It was nice playing Beau Rivage, as my family and I also stayed right at the course. The greens were in good condition; however, the course layout was too narrow for my liking. In addition to having a tight layout, there were houses/apartments too close along some of the holes, which I wasn't a huge fan of. The golf staff on the inside wasn't all too friendly, especially when my wife and son, after taking a nap following a morning at the beach, were hoping to hitch a ride to meet me on the back 9 around hole #14...guess I'll just chalk that up to them having a bad day...the hotel staff was GREAT! My favorite in the area is still Cape Fear National and I will either return there next time in Wilmington NC, or try out Magnolia Greens again (been over 4yrs).

Much improved

My son (3 1/2 yrs old) had a good time on the course. It was perfect for the rate I paid ($16) using GolfNow and I probably wouldn't pay more than $25...but, overall, was a nice course, in pretty good shape. The course was crowded, and could have used a ranger out there ensuring groups were moving alng on-pace, but we still had a good time, although we turned it in after 16 holes due to log-jam on #17, and we had to run to the O's game.

Nice course, overall but greens were slow

Our foursome had a good time playing Foxfire. The entire course was in really good shape, and with the exception of the greens being super slow, all of us enjoyed. If the greens had been cut and were rolling, it would have made the round more enjoyable, but I wouldn't rule out returning, especially if able to get a great GolfNow deal ($16/player). The course is a bit of a trek from Raleigh, and we passed a lot of other great courses along the way (Talamore, The National, Pinehurst-pricey, Pine Needles-pricey, MidPines-pricey) but overall, we got a great deal.

Not at its best

I can now see why I have not played Eagle Ridge in close to 2 years. This course used to be one of my favorites, but I guess since changing ownership (now part of the Fred Smith group of courses), it is not what it once was. This round was extremely disappointing, as holes 1-9 were closed and they advised that I needed to play holes 10-18 twice, which is not what I was looking for. When I asked to get a rain check for 9 holes since I was not interested in replaying the back 9, I was dismissed and told to follow-up with GolfNow to make it right. Given the conditions of holes 10-18, they should have been closed also...I will not be returning to Eagle Ridge anytime soon, and will probably be another 2+yrs before I return. Definitely would not pay more than $20 to play this course.

Tough, but fair, track

Always an enjoyable round due to the challenge of the course. Lonnie Poole is pretty tough, especially from the Black tees, but is fair and fun. I would not pay the rack price, as I don't believe it is worth the price, but anytime there is a HotDeal for <$40, I would say its worth it.

Good course for the price

The course was in pretty good shape, although the greens were slow. I was able to secure a Hot Deal price, which worked out well...I wouldn't have been satisfied if I had paid full price or anything > $25 for the course. I would return again for the Hot Deal price.

Course in very good shape

Great value, and convenient location for anyone in Wake County. This course is challenging and fair, and the course conditions are always pretty good. I noticed their greens were not rolling as quickly as they have in the past, but still a great test.

Nice layout and overall, a good course

Thought the course was in great shape, although having aerated a little over 1 week ago, the greens were rolling slow. Should be in great shape in 1-2 more weeks and into the fall, as the greens were in great shape, but just slow. Overall, the course was nice and I'll definitely return again this season.
