Ulverston Golf Club
Played On 07/16/2020Excellent Course
WOW - what can I say? From start to finish this was a great experience. The pro shop was really friendly and welcoming, explaining that we’d be paired up with 2 more people into a 4-ball - not an issue in the slightest. The course was in immaculate condition - all aspects. The green staff obviously do an excellent job. The layout was great too, with various changes in elevation. Just a pity our golf wasn’t up to much. The two guys we played with were great company. I will certainly be playing here again. Thanks
Turtle Creek Golf Course
Played On 05/08/2019Great Greens and Fairways
A first time visitor here....so didn’t really know what to expect. First of all the negatives....bunkers and cart paths could do with some attention, but that didn’t bother me in the slightest. I was here to play golf - and the tees, fairways and greens were in great condition. The greens were slick...way too fast for my putting! The course was undulating and scenic....and there was barely a cloud in the sky. Staff were very friendly too. So, all in all a great afternoon...and will certainly visit again, when over from the UK.
Palisades Country Club
Played On 01/07/2016A pleasant afternoon
This was the first time we'd played Palisades as don't usually venture this far north. Didn't know what to expect as heard various opinions on the condition of the course - mostly, not so good.
As far as I'm concerned, the condition of the course is the number one criteria...and this was in reasonable condition, albeit the greens certainly needed attention - 3 or 4 greens were very poor, almost to the point where I wondered was it worth putting! This didn't stop us having a pleasant round of golf.
However, don't let this put you off! The course layout is very good, with some really interesting holes. The fairways were pretty good having been recently cut. Teeing areas were OK also. Bunkers had been well raked, but a bit scrappy around the edges - but not unlike many Florida courses.
One of the friends I played with, commented it was the best condition he'd played it in the last four years.
Cart paths were a little uneven...and gas carts sort of annoy me ...but again, didn't affect the game.
With a little bit more work, this could be an even better course. Sort those greens out (particularly the poor ones)..and this should be a 'must play' course. I will certainly be visiting here on my next visit.
Really enjoyable - thank you.
Kissimmee Golf Club
Played On 12/25/2015First time visit...
This was the first time we'd played Kissimmee Golf Club...and trying to work out how this is the case, as played many courses in the area.
The welcome from the staff was very friendly. The course was in very good condition, with greens playing well, if not a little slow. This was no problem whatsoever.
The pace of play was painfully slow to start off with, but there was a 4 ball in front of us, who were playing for the Ryder Cup. Yes, I realise we were playing as a 2 ball and we are bound to be waiting on shots...but please have a little bit of etiquette, if you are going to spend 10 minutes searching for golf balls on the second hole.
Fortunately, a local guy joined us on the second tee (whilst we were still waiting), so we invited him to join us. Playing as a three ball, slowed us down a little, so the pace of play wasn't too much of an issue. He gave us guidance of where to place our golf balls...just a pity we couldn't hit them where he was guiding us to!!
Since we played there, we have visited again - and again it was in very good shape.
The green fees were very reasonable and the company was excellent, so all in all an enjoyable round of golf.
EastWood Golf Course
Played On 05/06/2015An enjoyable afternoon, despite the weather
I'd never played Eastwood before, although had played Stoneybrook East, which is almost 'next door'. The overall condition of the course was good - although it is clear where the club have prioritised spending on the course. The tees, fairways and greens were very good, whereas the bunkers...and areas around the greens were pretty poor - lots of weeds and bare patches. The bunkers were raked, but around the extremities were rough. We were interrupted by rain on the 4th hole....and the greens were pretty wet immediately afterwards, holding water. These quickly dried off and the remainder of the round was very pleasant. Some interesting wildlife too....which is always a pleasure to see, especially when my golf isn't too good!!
Providence Golf Club
Played On 04/27/2015A good afternoon!
I've played Providence on a few occasions now...and have always found it to be in pretty good condition. To be honest, I didn't know what to expect this time, as had heard comments about the greens, which weren't favourable. Yes, the greens weren't brilliant...but they didn't spoil the round of golf. There were many 'poor' patches on most of the greens...but the holes were placed well away. Two greens were temporary...one of which (the 8th) always seems to be temporary! The fairways and tees were in good condition. Even in it's current condition, I wouldn't hesitate to play again...and when they get all the greens sorted out...it will be even better! Not so many alligators this time either...there were 11 last time, but they were friendly!
An Enjoyable Afternoon
Having played this course on numerous occasions, the condition of the course didn't surprise me. It is in consistently good condition. The greens must be some of the best in the area, running very true. Teeing areas were also good. If I was going to make any criticism...it would be that the fairways are a little patchy in places - a little unsightly! However, I'd rather see good greens, than immaculate fairways. Not quite sure what was happening on the 14th fairway...looked like a small sinkhole!! A most enjoyable afternoon.
Willowbrook Golf Course
Played On 5/10/2013An interesting course with highs and lows!
This was the first time I have played Willow Brook...and it was an up and down experience...and not a typical Orlando course, with no villas in sight!
The not so good points...the tees were some of the worst I have experienced; the rough was..well not very rough...very little grass - more weeds/cabbage patch/bare; the greens had recently been 'holed' (which I wasn't expecting), so weren't in the best of condition...and the cart paths were something else! (I will refer to this later!). On the plus side...the fairways were well maintained (not that I was on them that often!)..and all the bunkers were recently raked...and the lady in the shop was very pleasant too.
When I 'booked in'...I had to sign for a cart..and also provide my telephone number...which was a first. The reason being the amount of 'lost property' that gets handed in - there was a large number of clubs and head covers visible. It wasn't until around the 14th hole I suddenly realised why there was so many items. I think it was because of the most uneven cart paths I've ever witnessed...and that very little stays in the cart...hence so much being handed in!
So, overall...an enjoyable course...and one which I will visit again at some time (especially at the $9 rate!). There was lots of wildlife to see too!

Diamondback Golf Club
Played On 4/30/2013Good Value
On every trip to Florida we always play Diamondback...although never play it particularly well!! We were asked to play the front nine twice as they were just starting work on the back nine greens...no problems whatsoever.
On the whole, the course was in fair condition...greens were a bit patchy in places...but guess that's why they are about to start work on them.
The most disappointing feature was the state of the bunkers, which looked like they could do with a bit of care and attention...rough around the edges and not been raked for a while. Again..not enough to spoil the day.
I guess, like most courses, times are hard...and maybe the bunkers are the first thing to be sacrificed.
Always an enjoyable experience though!
Legends Golf & Country Club
Played On 11/19/2012Not bad...but a little disappointing
I've played Legends on numerous occasions over the years and must say this is the most disappointed I've been. Guess I wasn't helped by the weather...a pretty miserable day! Things didn't get off to a great start, when they had no carts available - they were waiting for some to come back (even though the garage was full of them). The round culminated at the 16th...when the cart died, so we had to walk in!! Not good! We didn't even play the last 2 holes. The pace of play was slow throughout...having to wait on every shot..often arriving at the next tee, with the group ahead still on the tee - but not their fault! The course wasn't up to its normal standards...quite a few areas of very wet ground...even though there had been no rain. The greens weren't bad, but the approaches to the greens were poor. So, overall...a little disappointed.
White Heron Golf Club
Played On 11/18/2012No surprises...as usual
We've played Ridgewood Lakes on numerous occasions and the course was as good as usual. The greens were in good condition...amongst some of the best quality we've played on. The only minor complaint was the pace of play...which meant we had to miss holes 13, 14 and 15 out, to get back in 'just about playable' light. But nevertheless, would always recommend playing here!
Kings Ridge Golf Club - Kings Course
Played On 11/16/2012Good Value
We have played Kings Ridge when making regular visits to Florida an the condition is always pretty good. The greens were OK, but nothing special, as were the fairways and tees. Pace of play was pretty reasonable, which made for an enjoyable day.
Thank you so much for your excellent and detailed feedback, Mark5107879! We're continuously working to improve our conditions and with support from golfers like you, we will get there. We look forward to seeing your out here again soon!
