Cypress Ridge Golf Course
Played On 3/21/2013Cypress Ridge, for winter golf in Ca, is in great condition. The greens are fast and true.
I plan on playing Cypress Ridge once more before we leave Ca. The tee box combo selection [127 slope] is a great way to play this course for a 15/16 hdcp player. For the up hill shots, use 2 clubs down instead of 1.
Lakes/Canyon at Blacklake Golf Course
Played On 3/18/2013Greens are great but the 3 course nines need attn.
I believe the staff has been told to cram as many people on the course as you can. The owners need the money. Tee times for any one of the 3 nines mean nothing cause they will start you on a tee that looks open regardless of the one you were scheduled to play. 5 hr rounds are typical.
Kino Springs Golf Course
Played On 2/18/2013some of the fastest greens you'll see in southern Az.
Kino Springs has some very friendly golf holes coupled with spot on target golf. The greens had to register 14 on the stemp meter. Unfortunately, we had 30 + MPH winds the day we played and if your putt was up hill and against the wind, you're putt could be blown back to you and right off the green. Under windy conditions, make sure you're putt gets to the hole. No matter, you need to play this course once just to experience the greens.
Haven at Haven Public Golf Club
Played On 2/14/2013Great course to build confidence
Haven is in great shape for the courses available in Green Valley. Greens are true, not a lot of trouble and a challenge for your short game. The price is right and the pace of play is good. It was really great to actually hit of grass in the fairways.
Quarry Pines Golf Club
Played On 2/1/2013The greens had been recently sanded but what a fun golf course to play. I will be booking another round of golf here soon.
As the starter told us on the first tee, the front nine gets you ready for the back nine in the quarry. He wasn't exaggerating. The views are worth the $50 green fee. If you miss hit your golf ball, kiss it good bye. Other than the greens being sanded, they will recover in a week, this is a true test of golf from any one of the tees you elect to play from.
Silverbell Municipal Golf Course
Played On 1/31/2013Great greens, long and flat from the white tees. Needs sand in the traps.
Long and flat but still a good test of golf. Silverbell has some of the best greens I've played so far in the Tuscon area, however, like other courses I've played so far, you need a lesson on how to hit out of the sand traps. Dirt and hard pan is a better discription for sand traps. I will play Silverbell again.
Canoa Ranch Golf Club
Played On 1/30/2013Compared to last year, this course has improved immensely
The owners have decided to put some money into the course. There were only a couple of the greens that need more work compared to last year when most of the greens weren't playable. But don't let the last comment stop you from playing Canoa Ranch. The views are great of the surrounding mountains and bring plenty of golf balls. The Ranch is a true test of golf.
Country Club of Green Valley
Played On 1/25/2013fun round of golf
Green Valley doesn't present a lot of trouble, great course for the lady's
del Lago Golf Club
Played On 1/21/2013Great golf course
Great golf, superb views, because of the desert, bring plenty of golf balls. I will play this course several times while in Az.
