Big Oak Public Golf Course
Played On 10/30/2016Unfriendly and impatient staff, flat and straight holes
I went to Big Oak on Sunday to play the back 9 with a couple friends. We were novice, intermediate, and beginner level golfers. Not much to say about the course in general, some nice water traps, interesting topography, etc. the real reason I'm writing this review is because of the crotchety mean old man on staff that day. We teed off around noon with no one else on the course, and in about an hour and a half we had made it to the green on hole 15. I'd say that's pretty darn good for golfers of our class, especially when one of us had never golfed before. So here we are, chipping up to the green, when the old man rolls up on a cart and asks us what the heck is taking us so long. Apparently this guy expected us to be done in an hour. He told us we needed to finish up the hole and leave, because he wanted to go home. He didn't even give us a good reason. Just that he was sick of waiting and wanted to leave. We called the course a couple days later and they told us all they would do was let us come play at 3:30 but we'd have to be done by 5. We declined because we didn't want to play rushed at all. They flat out refused to refund us whatsoever. 1/10 would not reccomend unless you're into speed golf, if that's even a thing.
