I don't know

I know we are in transition right now, so I'm trying to keep that in mind. First of all the pace of play was HORRIBLE, and forget a starter to regulate the pace, even though they have someone assigning carts to you. The conditions of the course were also pretty bad, the fairways are really bad, the carts (at least the ones in my group) had no sand bottles to fill in divots and it looked like others didn't either and the staff doesn't go through the fairway filling in the divots. The greens, well they're green, other than that they have 2-3 different types of grass on them with an under lying black algae in some spots and there are the dollar spots all through out and NOBODY fixes they're ball marks, ALOT, and you can tell the staff doesn't walk the green and fix the ball marks. You also need to keep your wits about you because the holes run along each other with golf balls from other holes being hit into the trees right next to you, now the carts have GPS which is GREAT but they don't track the carts ahead of you for you to be able to see where the group is ahead of you on a blind shot. This is tough because it's so beautiful and peaceful out there but it's the little things that can be done. Also the sand in the bunkers is the fluffiest I've ever seen, it's must be new and hasent had a chance to settle yet, my feet sank in the sand that's how soft and fluffy they were. Also, pay attention to where you are as they don't have arrows on the cart path pointing the way to the next hole and some are a little confusing. I would and will play again, I just really hope the staff reads this and talks about it on their weekly meetings. Give it a try and see what you think. Please respond if the course reads this, because I want to continue to play but really want to know things are being done or are going to be done

Mr. Gates,
We are sorry that you did not enjoy your experience at City Club the other day. Unfortunately, we are still in the transition period where the grass has not begun to grow again. That, coupled with the nice weather and the increase in traffic, has had an impact on course conditions. We should be back in great shape shortly. I checked the pace of play that day as we are always concerned with movement on the course. According to the tracking on the GPS system, your cart left the first tee at 12:20PM and came off number eighteen at 4:29PM for a round time of 4:09, which is actually six minutes ahead of our time par. It may have felt slower, but on a busy day like we had, it is well within acceptable standards. Also, the GPS system does provide tracking of carts in front of you on holes 6, 8 and 15 where we have blind shots. You may have just missed it as it only displays the cart locations until you have cleared the blind area. You are correct that the bunker sand is still a bit fluffy, we recently went through and added sand to improve conditions before we get into spring and it will just take a little time for the sand to settle and become more compact. We look forward to seeing you again when we are experiencing better growing conditions and the course is in great shape. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me at any time.

Ok so you know what type of course this is already. However, if you want a nice relaxing round of golf with great holes, great scenery and doesn't kill your back and won't take you 4+ hrs to play then this is a great course for the day. This will be added to one of my regular courses just to still play but also to enjoy it and relax. Great play!!!

Great experience

This course is well kept. Brand new greens that are truly great. It's funny but I remember all the things except the actually playing for example big clubhouse, long drives between holes with great views and experiences, great condition. It's not only about how u play that you'll remember it's the other stuff too. They have 27 holes and I played Creek and Oak, only complaint is that after 15 holes I had to leave bc it was already 4 hrs into the round, the rangers and super friendly but really need to encourage pace of play or at least have golfers ready to hit. if you want to play a round where you can't use the condition as an excuse and really enjoy the experience, this is a course to try out and play

Beautiful course if it works for you

Great course. They really do take care of it as the conditions were fantastic. The outside staff was much friendlier than inside, they talk to you and help you with anything you need. Fairways are somewhat narrow but opens up after the tee shot. Greens are fantastic, tricky but in great shape as are the bunkers. You definently should play and see if this course suits your eye and your game and if it does then it's a great place to go back to

Must play

This is a fantastic course!!!! Greens were amazing, they held shots yet were quick and true. Bunkers in great condition. Entire course was in great shape from tee to green and everything in between. Easily marked holes with signage, I never got turned around or lost. They meet you at car with golf cart, and 6 different tees to play from although I didn't see the back 2 on the scorecard so if your gonna play that make sure to ask about it. Watering holes were not coolers but actual machines with ice and bathrooms on the course. If I have to give any critique it would be the pace of play the day I played but that's normal in Florida this time of year. The also was 150 yd stakes in fairway to see and aim at instead of painted of painted circles you can't see. I can't say enough about this course. It's worth the money, whatever you pay, you won't walk away disappointed.

Interesting course

Ok, just the nitty gritty. Interesting course with good yardage from different tees. Some holes are long and then you have to switch to a short par3 then you go to a dogleg o the next hole so each hole is different and it's a good mixup. Bunkers are thin mostly and in some spots around green the rough will cause u some headaches. Very forgiving off of tee box as most holes run next to each other. Par 3s and 5s are holes where u can make up lost shots. Number 18 is a par 4 with an island green, great hole to finish up on. I paid $45 and this was a good amount for the course HOWEVER, I had to rent clubs and they were $60!!! It definently is not a course worth anywhere near $100 but for $40 to $50 you'll be fine.

Surprisingly Good

The course was a pleasant surprise. The condition was above what I thought it would be, very nice to play on, never complained about the actual condition of the course. This is one of those tricky courses, The front nine is very visually deceptive and will try to take your score high. The course itself is short, but with carries and narrow looking fairways from the teebox it makes you look and say "theres no way that's only 150 yds". The back side is a green light, go for it!! With a couple drivable par 4's which make birdie very possible to offset the front side score. Would I recommend you play the course? Absolutly, why not, theres nothing wrong with playing new courses and you WILL NOT be disappointed. Now I live 2 hours away, will I make a trip back up just for this course? No, but I would encourage anyone to stop by and play the Chimneys, you'll have a great time

Great experience

Your experience starts off great just driving up to the wonderfully manicured landscape and seeing the Ritz and the J.W Marriott hotels looming high in the sky. The pro shop staff is very nice and accommodating and will tell you where everything is. Range balls on the range and great putting and chilling areas. The course is beautiful going through the local landscape. The fairways are very wide and generous so you can really get after it and there are five different tees to choose from for a challenge or a relaxing time. Bunkers are strategically placed and the greens will reward you or eat you alive, but they are so good you can't complain if you miss a putt. Water bottles and some refreshing towels are on your carts. Make sure you tell the "concierge" on the course if it's your first time out and they'll do something for you that will make you always remember this great course and great experience
