Wonderful condition for March. Layout is tight! Lots of trees marked for removal that will open it up a lot more. The range is grass - not dirt as are many on HHI. Incredible value at $125. I’LL DEFINITELY RETURN.
Thank you so much for the great review. We are glad you had an incredible time, and we hope to see you again soon! Thanks for choosing Golden Bear Golf Club at Indigo Run.
Old South Golf Links
Played On 03/27/2021Very nice layout - good conditions - great value
The course was in really good condition except for the tees which were pretty badly beat up. But, it really didn’t affect play. The greens were true but quite slow. Pace of play was a bit slow but the ranger prodded the slow group that was two in front of us and that helped a lot. There is lots of water and marsh on the course and straight shots are rewarded. The ending holes 16 - 18 have wonderful views. I highly recommend this course
We appreciated your comments and are glad that overall you enjoyed your day. Our staff tries to keep play moving without offending a slow group but since demand is so high for tee times it becomes a balancing act. We hope to see you back for another round.
Country Club of Hilton Head
Played On 02/23/2021Sloooow pace 5+ hours
It was cart path only, but still. 5.5 hours is not OK. No ranger to be seen. But, it’s a great layout and the greens were pretty true. And after all, it’s still February. I will return.
Arthur Hills at Palmetto Hall Plantation
Played On 03/13/2020Fun layout - good greens
I think this course represents one of the best values on HHI. The greens were in very good condition. For mid-March, the fairways were really pretty good. But, lots of tight lies (that wreck havoc with my game!) around the greens. All in all a great round. Pace of play was under four hours.

First time playing here. Layout was great, greens were in wonderful condition and ran true. Will definitely here again.
Harbour Town Golf Links at Sea Pines Resort
Played On 03/19/2018Great Course - Memorable Day - High Cost
It’s always fun to play a tournament course....but at $290 a player, the cost is a bit steep. None the less, I wanted my son to have the experience. We were extremely lucky - weather looked a bit sketchy but it turned out to be 75 and sunny. As a result, we had the course to ourselves and played in 3.5 hours. Our forecaddie was great. Since we were not staying in a Sea Pines property, we paid full fare for the round. You can do better if you book a package but we only had one day. $175 - $200 a player would get the course more play. Conditions were great. Greens were fast and true. Having the course to ourselves made the round fantastic but if we had to experience the typical 5 hour resort corse round, my review would be a lot less favorable. Bottom line: Would I play again? Sure, but only if the rate was under $200.Any more than that and it’s not really worth it. By the way, it’s much better to walk here than ride in a cart - the course is flat and if you ride, it’s cart path only.
Old South Golf Links
Played On 03/15/2018Great Course - Death March!
We were a twosome and quit after nine holes. The course was backed up with two or three groups stacked on each hole. We couldn’t take it any longer and bailed after nine - about 3 hrs.
The course is great when not over-booked; but this time was a real bummer. Conditions were mostly good but the tee boxes are really uneven.
I HHIreally like Old South and hope that the overcrowding was a case of cabin fever bringing everyone ou5 on the first nice day in a while.
Your right about everyone wanting to play on the first nice day in a long time. Unfortunately playing as a 2-some among 4-somes does cause some waiting. We hope to see you again and bring a foursome so pace of play will not be an issue. Tee boxes are on the maintenance schedule for 2018.
Robert Cupp at Palmetto Hall Plantation
Played On 03/05/2018Good Greens - Nice Layout
The Cupp course has some very interesting holes and is really fun to play. The greens are faster than other courses in the area and run true. Pace of play started slowly but the ranger did a nice job of moving a slow group ahead us up a couple holes. There is also actual sand in the traps - traps that are maintained. Course knowledge is a plus.

Good layout in great winter condition. Greens a bit slow but still in good repair. More grass than on other courses in the area, especiall6 in the rough. Definitely a place to play.
Old South is in great condition especially for this time of year. Be sure to enjoy another round soon!
Oyster Reef Golf Course
Played On 02/08/2018Great layout but conditions not the best
The traps are more dirt than sand and are hard as stone (and many filled with stones). Many areas adjacent to fairways are hard pan or just dirt. Greens were ok but a bit slow. But, it is February so what do you expect. It’s better than snowshoeing.
The layout is good and the pace of play was great. Course staff and restaurant staff were friendly, and helpful.
If you keep it in the fairway and hit greens in regulation you’ll be fine!
