I will try this course again in the spring or next fall. when it might not be as crowded because it is a gem.
But the pace of play is not for me. We went off at 1 :10 and quit around 6 after playing 16 holes.

They send groups out very 8 minutes and it puts too many golfers on the course. On every hole we were waiting for the foursome ahead of us to tee off. And on every second shot we were waiting for them to clear the green. They were doing the same. For me, it detracts greatly from how I experience a golf course.

Great layout and in terrific shape. Very reasonable green fees. And the staff very friendly and helpful.

I play WP 9 regularly. I have been intrigued by the slippage of the course since the city added WP 18 to its ownership so decided to give it a go. I don't know if it is a cause/ effect deal but it is at the very least coincidental.
WP 18 was muddy.. The greens are ok and that is being a bit generous. I did not care for the layout but I only played 9 holes.
I paid $30.00 for 9 holes but apparently there is a twi light rate of $25 that allows you to play as much as you can. My bad for not looking at the website but WP18 bad for not offering it in Golf Now.
Staff was very friendly and the restaurant looks like a major upgrade

Course is in terrific shape. Very friendly staff! Greens are top notch. I played in around 3 hours. I really like El Campeon but this is worth a visit. Like El Campeon, the front 9 does not loop back to the clubhouse. You go from 9th green to 10 the tee. A bit unusual. Only negative at Las Colinas is the excessive distance between tees and greens. Maybe that is why they have very fast carts!

I am going to make this a must do whenever we are in Greenville. Top notch shape. No two holes the same and the front and back are very different. I really enjoyed the back. The last few holes have gorgeous views of the lake. I had the good fortune of playing with a member who provided great advice. The starter and pro shop are the friendliest I have encountered. You will love the entire experience!

As others have mentioned, the greens are in superb condition and the remainder of the course is similar. Very friendly starter keeps things moving. It was busy but we finished under 4 hours.
The only negative is no the times after one as they close everything by 5 p.m. And I mean everything.

Great layout. Many interesting holes. Fairways are terrific for the most part. This could be a home run but the greens are not even average. Many dead ,brown, bare areas. If they ever decide to spend money on the greens and get a bar in the clubhouse, this place will be 5 star

I have played this course many times and I have usually found the conditions as good as it gets.

Today was no exception. In fact the greens were even better and they are always good.

My hang up with the course is just my personal preferences. I am not a fan of target golf and there are several holes that require that approach. The course also penalizes greatly missed shots which for me happens more than I care to admit.

But by all means give it a go. You will not find better conditions in this zip code.

I have read many good reviews of this course and was looking forward to playing it. But it was not a course I would play again. There is water on almost every hole which makes for slow play. There is also the hum and visual of traffic on many holes which I don't want to hear or see when I am on a golf course.
The course is in good shape and the greens are very quick. Some great holes but some really tricked up holes. I can see why many people like this course but not for me

I play here a couple of times a month. The fairways keep getting better. The traps are average. The tee boxes are average. They have done a great job clearing sides of fairways to make it less penal. Everything trending upward but the greens.

With the exception of Riveria, the greens here are as fast as anything in the area. But and it is a big but they are too many bare spots. 4 to 6 greens are average, the remainder are poor.
Maybe CK needs to charge more so they have the $$ to grow grass on the greens. Not sure what the answer is but I do know the new owners are giving it their best shot. And I hope they find a way to bring the greens back

The first 5 holes are kind of ho-hum but from 6 on some really interesting holes. Fairways for the most part are good, traps are ok, and the greens could be super. Have no idea why they keep them slow but as others have noted slow is the normal here I guess. It really does detract from what would could be a much better experience.

PS Nice clubhouse and bar. Very friendly staff everywhere.

I have been playing here every 2-3 weeks for the past year. As others have noted the course has improved greatly and the new owners should be commended for the effort being made. Having said that the greens have shown little or no progress, They remain fast but no grass in many many spots.

I play here a few times a month because Iike to walk and I like to support the new owners.

The gradual improvement I have noticed over the past year seems to have subsided over the past two months. I was hoping the greens would have more grass and less dead spots by now but not the case. The fairways are light years better than last year at this time but seem to be standing still rather than moving forward.
This course could be a gem and I am rooting hard for that to be the case. Time will tell!

I play here at least once a month because I like to walk and this is one of the courses in the area that promotes walking.
It was awful when the new owners took over and it is slowly and I mean slowly getting back to being a good course. But the point to remember it is moving forward.
Greens are ok to good..........fast and deceptive. Fairways need work but are getting there. Traps need total redo and I understand that is the making. Tee Boxes are great.
I hope they can hang in because it's a diamond in the rough

As others have noted, this is one of the best public courses in South Florida. You will enjoy!!

If you have not played this course in awhile, give it a go. The new owners are slowly but surely making progress. I have played it off and on for over a year and the gradual improvement has been evident each time I go back. The fairways and tee boxes are 100% better and the greens are getting there. They seem committed to improving course conditions!!

Don't expect great conditions but anyone who has played this course when it was down and out will appreciate what has been accomplished. I enjoy walking and this is one of the few in the area that allow and even promote it.
I expect in another 6 months this layout will be very good. Give it a go.

Each hole grabs your attention. The back nine is more challenging than the front. One of very few courses in this area that allow walkers. Being a Gary Player designed course this course could be great but it is not , due entirely to the less than average conditions. I think most golfers would tolerate the fairways if the greens were spectacular but they are far from that. However, despite the inferior conditions it is not so substandard to write it off. The price was right and I will give it a go again because I do like the design and maybe it is trending up?!!

The course is in good shape especially the greens and bunkers. Lotta shots over water which not my strong suit so I did not enjoy the course as much as I might have.
But you will not be disappointed in anything.........bar, range, staff etc all good

This course is a must do if you visit Ft L . Each hole has it's own distinctive character which I enjoy.

Terrific conditions and pace of play was terrific. Finished under 4 hours on Black Friday.

You will love it

I have seen this course listed on several " top tens to play in Florida" and though I would not put it on that list, it is an outstanding layout. The elevation changes are so unusual for Florida. Each hole will interest you.
The greens were not that fast when I payed but they are superb. The fairways are ok to good. The waste bunkers and other traps are plentiful and it is a shame more of the players do not rake.
I am looking to playing this course again.
