Pine Ridge Golf Club
Played On 03/02/2020Not Up to Par
I wish that I could write a good review but I just can't. This course is in very poor condition. The greens are patched with sod, bare spots and white sand on most. It is impossible to make putts even within a couple of feet. The fairways are not much better than the greens. There are many bare areas. Bottom line - don't waste your time or money at any price at this time.
Deer Island Country Club

Enjoyed this course. Number 1 out of 4 courses played during our vacation week including La Campeon (Mission Inn), Harbor Hills and Julliett Falls. Layout and conditions were excellent except for a few slow greens. Easy to over look those. Wildlife was great to see. Great work to the Deer Island group.
Mission Inn Resort & Club - El Campeon Course
Played On 02/26/2020Great Course Bad Rain Policy
I treated my Canadian golf buddies to El Campeon but the day was spoiled after 5 holes by a huge rainfall. We expected to get an 18 hole rain check would were only offered a low percentage of our green fee. Very disappointing! What we saw of the course was impressive. I'm not sure at this point that we will be back.
The Plantation Golf Club - Cranes Roost Course
Played On 02/05/2020Fun Course to Play
I played this course with a group of 50+ people. The course can be tight in places. There is a premium on hitting fairways or at least not being far off fairways. The greens were relatively small but at a good speed and the ball rolled true. Pace of play was excellent. Finished in 4 hours. I would recommend this course.
The Spruce Creek Preserve Golf Club
Played On 01/30/2020Enjoyed Spruce Creek
A friend and I played Spruce Creek during that last week of January 2020. The weather was a bit colder than seasonal but when we started around 11:30 but warmed up into the afternoon. The course layout has some nice doglegs and elevation changes, The fairways and most greens were in good shape and good speed.. The greens are small though so you'll need good approach shots to score well. Tree lined fairways present the biggest challenge. The pace of play was very good and it was nice to have a good stater to organized players at the first tee. No issues at the turn. I would recommend this course.at $22.00 or a bit more. I will be back.
Harbor Hills Country Club
Played On 01/09/2020Pretty Course to Play
I played this course with a golf group in a shotgun format. The course location offers beautiful views of the lake and surrounding area from high elevations. The course conditions were good. It appeared that the fairways had been over seeded so that added to the appears and good shot making. The rough was a bit spares in some places. The greens were speedy and well struck putts ran true. It appeared that work was being done on the greens. The grass was spares. They may have been reseed. The staff were friendly and helpful in getting our players to their carts and out to our starting holes.
Lakewood Shores Resort - The Blackshire Course
Played On 08/18/2017Buddies Weekend
We booked our annual buddies weekend at Lakewood on the recommendation of friends who played the three courses on a stay and play package. There were no surprises. The fairway villa was modest but comfortable and convenient. Food was only mediocre at best, especially the breakfast buffet at $14.00 ! We played each of the three courses -18 holes on Friday, 36 on Saturday and 18 on Sunday. Pace of play was good on all three days. We enjoyed the layout of all three courses. The greens where not in great condition but good for a high traffic resort course. The only real negative comment would be the condition of the golf carts. On the Blackshire course carts were covered with mud and we had to call the pro shop twice to have them bring replacement carts to us because the batteries died. However, the staff handled the cart replacement quickly.
Kingsville Golf and Country Club - Red/White
Played On 11/18/2014One of the best courses in the region.
The Red course starts out with a challenging par 5 with an elevated tee shot to a landing area about 200 yards out but no worries if you hit it a bit short. You will have a blind second shot up to the flat part of the fairway. A large oak tree guards the left side with bunkers on the right. It takes 3 good shots to hit the green in regulation. Par is a good score here to start your round. Fairways on the red course are wide but stray tee shots will usually prevent a GIR. The white course starts off with a reachable par 4 but danger lurks on shots long left and shots pushed to the right. Holes 2 and 3 have elevated tees with very challenging greens. Bring your A game with the putter. Holes 4 through 9 include 2 par 5s, 3 par 4s with a closing par 3 which has a stream that will catch shots short of the green. The Red/White course is a treat to play and a good value for the money. You won't be disappointed.
Kingsville Golf and Country Club - Red/Gold
Played On 11/15/2014Beautiful course
This is a 27 hole track. The course combinations are Gold/Red, Red/White and White/Gold. As a club member, I have played the three courses many times. The courses are challenging but fair. Three sets of tees make it enjoyable for all handicap levels. The Gold 9 is considered the most challenging course requiring accurate tee shots and approaches to undulating and firm/fast greens. Number 7 is the signature hole requiring an accurate tee shot to avoid a creek that runs across the fairway at about 120 yards from the tee then down the right side and then again across the fairway at about 220 yards. The Red 9 is a classic course with tree lined fairways. 3 par 5s, 3 par 4s and 3 par 3s provide an enjoyable 9 holes. Both 9s have elevation changes that add to the visual interest and challenge of the course. Have fun playing this course. Highly recommended!
