Golf Club of Houston - Tournament Course
Played On 02/24/2017The Shell Houston Open Course
The course was immaculate - which is what you would expect 4 weeks before the Shell Houston Open starts. Navigating the course is not easy but the caddie was great, providing the right target line for our skill level and helping us read the greens. This was the first time I have ever completed a round of golf in 3 hours in Houston (normally 4.5 - 5 hrs). An early start and only 2 of us helped. Overall an expensive round of golf but if you haven't played the course well worth the money especially if you can play when the course is in such good condition. Go on, spoil yourself!
Wildcat Golf Club - The Highlands
Played On 07/25/2015A Great Course
The Lakes course is a great course with a mixture of seemingly easy holes (beware) and challenging holes around the lakes. Not a course if the thought of water has you quivering on the tee box. This really is a course that will make you pay if you miss the fairways. Only downside to the round was the greens had recently been cored. Pity we wern't aware of this when booking.

I should not be writing this as it should be kept a secret. For a public course it is fantastic. The course is in very good condition and although the fairways are narrow and lined with trees the area under the trees is well maintained so the errant tee shot can be easily found with a way back out onto the fairway. Leave the driver at home - an accurate 3 wood will suffice as the holes are not particularly long. Staff are very friendly and the pro shop appears well stocked. Anyone wanting food after 9 holes should ask them to bring it out onto the course. This is one area that is slow and could do with improving. It is well worth the drive to find the course, I will definately return.
