Course handles wet conditions pretty well so worth a visit when other courses will be very wet and muddy

Ok I played well but I always enjoy playing Balbirnie.
Beautiful course with 18 very different holes - mostly challenging off the tee.
Greens were immaculate

amazed to find 6 par 3's and no par 5's but discovered this is quite a tight piece of land - and hilly too. The par 3's are long , often uphill and many of the 4's take 2 good blows.
My main concern was how many holes crossed over each other. There was one stretch between the 7th to the 13th where there were golfers and flying balls everywhere - relatively dangerous.
Im afraid like many course after Covid lockdown, prices have soared and I wasnt happy to pay £26 for Carnwath.

Generous wide fairways always helps me!
Great looking holes - every one different and nearly all defined by mature pine trees
Greens need some growth but until then quite sandy and bumpy
Will be back for sure

A fantastic challenge for your short game and I will definitely be back

Loved Leven
Played well and large well kept greens suited me.
You have to keep the ball in position or you're in trouble
Strangely noisy though - planes, drones, caravanners and even a music festival nearby
