Hidden Haven Country Club
Played On 07/10/20152 different 9's
I play Hidden Haven 6 or 7 times a year. I like the good prices and solid playing conditions every time I go out there. It's a unique course with wide open holes on the front and tight fairways on the back. Hitting the tee shot straight is the most important thing you can do. Playing from the rough will put you hills or behind trees. My only complaints with the course is that there is no range and the greens are the slowest in the state. but it's still fun.
Rum River Hills Golf Club
Played On 06/27/2015In much better shape
I've played the course a lot and today was the best I had seen it. It was very green with smooth greens and fairways that you could actually hit off of. Much improved. 18 is still a super tough driving hole for a short par 5. I hope you can hit a long cut shot.
Elk River Country Club
Played On 06/23/2015Some tough greens
The layout of the golf course is pretty challenging and fun with lots of uphill and downhill shots and tree lined fairways. Being in the fairway is a must because you need every advantage you can when hitting into the greens. They are small with sides that are shaved and balls will run right off if you miss. That can be frustrating but if you can get it on, the putts will roll pretty true. Overall, its a challenge and a fun layout.
Manitou Ridge Golf Club
Played On 07/25/2014A hilly test
This is a fun golf course for most any handicap. There is a great mix of uphill and downhill holes with a plethora of doglegs to each side. It's the type of course that tests every club in the bag. The course was in good shape and the staff was pretty accommodating. I'd recommend it.
Regulation Eighteen at Falcon Ridge Golf Course
Played On 06/28/2014tale of two 9's
This golf course is tucked in to the countryside of Stacy, MN but it's easy to get to just off I-35. The front 9 is wide open with small but challenging greens. There are few hazards so most holes are bombs away with the driver. Greens have subtle breaks and its difficult to figure the speed on uphill putts. The back 9 plays much differently. The driver is completely taken from you on 6 holes and you are forced to play angles on short par 4's.. It's a par 72 and players shouldn't have a problem shooting a good number here. Good to play with a group of guys who don't play much and price is certainly fair for what you get.
