Forest Hill Golf Course
Played On 08/20/2022Great course with the trickiest greens in the Memphis area
I've played Forest Hill multiple times. It's one of the very few courses that you can usually get an early tee time at the last minute. Any tee time you get anywhere from 6am to about 730am USUALLY comes with a great pace of play. With that said in my opinion Forest Hill without a doubt has the most difficult greens with the most slope in the Memphis area. Very few if any straight puts exist. One wrong move and you can easily put the ball off the green onto the fringe. The course is fair in terms of difficulty but again, you actually need to hit some of these greens in the right spot. I would definitely recommend this course but it's not a place for beginners.
Lakeland Golf Club
Played On 06/29/2022Great course, but challenging
I've played Lakeland a few times and my game has improved since. With that said I still think this is no course for beginners. Several tee shots not only require you to hit the fairway to have a chance but actually hitting the fairway in the right spot. There are numerous water carry par 3s and the greens all have slope and are usually fast. The course is in decent shape for the most part. I know they're working on getting it back to top shape and it's on the way. Pace of play was good, although I do wish they had a starter to make things flow better. Very friendly staff as always and excellent practice facilities. Ill work on my game and be back in a few months for sure.
WildHorse Golf Club
Played On 06/22/2021Great course, Great staff
2nd time playing this course in 3 months. This course is starting to shape up nicely with a few bare spots on some of the greens but improving. Excellent layout and fun course for sure. #9 is definitely the number 1 handicap hole. You'd better be in the fairway off the tee to even have a chance because you have to deal with all kinds of water. Looking forward to playing it again
Glen Eagle Golf Course
Played On 06/15/2021Great course, excellent staff
I've been trying and trying to get a tee time out here and I can see why it's been difficult. The course is in great shape and I definitely would recommend it. The pace of play was decent at best, which would be my only gripe. My partner and I flew threw the front 9 only to catch up with these groups of walking, slow playing threesomes which had no thoughts of letting us play through. With that said the course has a nice layout with generous enough fairways. The thing about this course are the greens....most are really fast so if you loose your mind and put it too hard you'll easily roll it by 6 feet or more. Looking forward to coming our here again and would definitely recommend.
Timber Truss Golf Course
Played On 02/19/2021Great course, excellent staff.
I play Timber Truss at least once a month and the experience is never bad. The course Is fun and challenging at times but definitely fair. Along with that, the staff is amongst the friendliest in the Memphis area which is why I enjoy coming to Timber Truss. I definitely recommend this course and look forward to the next time..

Had a great time playing Timber Truss the other day. The course has a lot of character with a mixture of challenging holes and great views. The staff is friendly and welcoming and I will definitely be returning to play again
The Links at Fox Meadows
Played On 06/26/2020Great course, friendly staff
Fox meadows is in great shape and the staff is friendly. One word of caution as there a pitbull that likes to jump its fence alongside hole five and six and run you off the tee box! The course is in great shape and will definitely play here again
Forest Hill Golf Course
Played On 06/21/2020Fantastic course
Forest Hill is worth the drive. A fantastic course with a scenic layout with great views. The course is in very good shape and the greens are probably some of the best in the area. The front 9 is definitely the easier side as the back 9 has the #1 and #2 handicap hole back to back. The course has generous enough fairways so that missed tee shots on most holes should be found. Without a doubt there's plenty of bends on a lot of the holes so ball placement is important. Its a fun and challenging course and I 100% recommend this course and will definitely be playing it again soon.
Lakeland Golf Club
Played On 05/29/2020Challenging Course but still fun
The course is in decent shape as courses are opening and they're able to get things up to par. Stonebridge is fun course to play but definitely challenging. At times there are generous fairways from the tee box, other times there are only narrow openings in which you must fit your ball through. There's a good amount of water on this course as well and missed approach shots or wayward shots on par 3s will have consequences. If you can hit fairways on tee shots you'll be in great shape. The fairways are decent width but are all tree lined and balls pulled or sprayed into the woods will make for an extra challenging round. The greens are definitely fast and there's almost some sort of break in every put. All in all ill definitely recommend this course but not for beginners as its a 133 slope and holds true to that.
Thanks for the great review! We're glad you enjoyed the challenge the course has to offer.
Marina Vallarta Golf Club
Played On 03/25/2017Fun and challenging but overpriced
Definitely a course I would recommend. I paid $55.00 for an afternoon tee time and had to rent a set of clubs which drove the price up to close to $100.00. The staff is friendly enough I would say. I read an earlier review about the staff being arrogant and I would have to somewhat agree. The course is nice and in decent shape but not a chance in the world it should be $100 to $55 a round. I played from the blue tees and its about 6600 yds from there. The fairways are fairly narrow and there's plenty of trouble to get into if you're tee shots stray. The greens are fast and most have bunkers. There's definitely a good amount of water with crocodiles so definitely be on the lookout. I probably saw at least 10, one being at least 12 feet laying very close to the green. They're signs all over for them so just be aware. Overall it was a good experience but just a bit overpriced.
Thank you for your kind words! We hope to see you again at the course very soon for another 5-star experience. Thanks for choosing WildHorse Golf Club.
