Peninsula Golf Club
Played On 09/19/2020Good 9-hole course
First time playing Peninsula. It was a good overall experience - the course itself is quite good, but most other players don't seem to play much. I say this while admittedly not playing my best either. However, the 4-some in front of us were quite slow (or maybe it was the group in front of them), but we waited on every hole. Also, I had 3 balls land right near me from other holes without a courtesy "FORE." All that said, I thought it was a great value and enjoyed the round.
Baywood Greens
Played On 08/20/2015Great course
I really enjoyed playing this course. In preparing for my trip to the Delaware beaches, I scouted out two main places - Bayside and Baywoods Green. I played Bayside first - on both days I was in the first public tee slot so pace of play wasn't an issue at either place.
My overall summary is that I wish I had just played Baywoods twice - especially since they were about the same price (little over $100 each). Bayside was enjoyable but I really don't remember much about it - I think their website noted there was water on every hole, and I think that was true.
Conversely, Baywoods has really stuck in my mind - there's the flowers (which I see mentioned a lot) but I also enjoyed how each hole felt unique. Some might say an island fairway is gimmicky, but I just found it fun and interesting. I stuck most of my par 3 tee shots in the water but I didn't care too much as I was also taking in the scenery.
All in all, I didn't score my best, but I loved every moment on the course. As a quick (3hrs 40min) round on vacation, I couldn't have asked for anything more.
