Great day of golf

Great course. Pace of play was a little slow, but you have to expect that on a Saturday. Course was in good shape and Golf Now deal was great. Well worth the money...

A Jewel of a Course

I must admit, I was a bit timid about playing this course. I had heard it had very narrow fairways, and being one who sometimes has trouble hitting it straight, I was nervous. Also, I got a great deal on GolfNow ($20 for 18 with cart) and I thought "How good can a course be for that price?". Boy, was I surprised. Very pleasantly surprised. This course is a Jewel. It was in great condition, even with the greens having just been aerated less than a week before. The fairways were a little narrow, but the beauty of this course lined with tall majestic pines, was specatcular. I found myself slowing down my swing and focused on hitting it straight, as opposed to killing it, and geuss what? I hit almost every fairway. This course is worth the travel time down to Monument. It is a beautiful course that is challenging and very fun to play. Go for it!

Very disappointed

For a course that used to be TPC, this course has declined into a sad shell of what it used to be. We plaed on a Sunday, and were behind a foursome that had a five-some in front of them. Really? On a weekend? Who is sending these groups out? The clubhouse is in poor condition. The paint is chipping, the concrete is cracked throughout the parking lot and car paths. The golf carts are very old. Everytime we put on the break, the back left wheel locked up and caused the cart to skid. When we turned in the cart and told the guy at the clubhouse he came up with a lame excuse about "their horses being old and ridden hard". Huh? The fairways and greens were dry and brown and in poor condition. I know we played in March, but we've played other coursed like spring Valley, and they were in much better shapr that this course. It is obvious that the owner just doesn't have the money to keep this course in good shape. It is sad. The weather wasn't the best (30 mph winds) and that combined with the slow play and the five-some in front of us, we through in the towel after 12 holes. We asked for a raincheck for the back 9 and were declined. Really? I won't be going back to this course. Don't waste your time. There are other courses that have good deals that are much more fn to play and much better cared for. Sad.....

Great Course

For playing in mid-November, the course was in great condition. I shot one of the best rounds ever on this outing. The course is challenging but fair. I really enjoyed playing here.

Great Course!

I love this course. It is challenging yet lots of fun. It's always in great shape (we played on November 2nd). The course design is awesome. Lots of elevated tees and up and down elevations on the course. I love the par 3's. A++++ One of the best courses in the Denver Metro!

Absolutely great experience!

It was Labor Day Weekend and we decided to get away from Denver and drive up to Windsor to play some golf. A friend of mine had told me how great Pelican Falls was, so my wife and I thought we'd check it out. First of all, the town of Windsor is a gem. White picket fences, neatly groomed yards and just an All American feel to the town. They have an 18 hole course called Pelican Lakes which I have not played yet, but now want to. Pelican Falls is a 9 hole, Par 32 course that is simply FUN to play. Elevated tees, great views and an Island green! FUN, FUN, FUN! And it was in incredible shape. Pristine! They really need to offer a deal where you play 9 and then can play it again for a discount, because ti would be great to play it twice for a full 18 holes. Some people play 9 on Pelican Lakes and then play the 9 hole Pelican Falls. If you want to play a GREAT 9 hole course that is challenging, beautiful and FUN, give Pelican Lakes a shot.

Disappointing

I was really excited to play this course. The overall experience was disappointing. First was their policy on taking the carts onto the fairways. 9 of the 18 holes were cart path only. Really? If I wanted to walk, I would have. It's the same grass on the holes where you could drive than the holes where you couldn't. Plus, talk about slowing down play. You could cut a good 30 minutes off the round if you just did cart path only on the Par 3's. Speaking of, 5 hours to play? Not good. Second... course condition. Many of the fairways were in less than satisfactory condition. Very rough and chunky... and hard as a rock. I know it is July and it's been dry, but it was like hitting off hard pan. How about some extra water??? No chance for divots on most holes. Back to the cart rules. Many of the holes, where you could drive on the fairway, you couldn't get within 100-150 yards from the green. Come on already. We're amateurs... this isn't the US Open. Last, loosen up on the gps cart restrictions. My cart shut down 4 times when I was within the rules of where the cart should be. I was 20 yeards in front of your arrows to the path, and my cart shut down. I understand having the restrictions, but enough is enough. You are not The Masters at Augusta. If you want "regular" people to come out and have a good time golfing, loosen up!

Good little muni course

We played on Fathers Day which may not be a fair test of the course. Lots of kids, slow play and long waits. Overall, not a bad course. We got a buy one get one, so the price was right. The course was in fair to good shape, with dry spots on the fairways. The greens were good. Oveall an enjoyable day.

I LOVE THIS COURSE

I just played this course for the first time a few weeks ago and have been back 3 times since. The course is challenging yet enjoyable to play. For October, it is in fabulous shape. The autumn color and weather has made it some of the most enjoyable golf I've played all season. The staff is incredibly friendly and the price is one of the best deals you can get in Denver. It is worth the drive from anywhere in Denver. YOU MUST PLAY THIS COURSE!

Good Course - Needs some work

I really enjoy playing this course. Challenging but fair. I am an average golfer so I like the challenge without the feeling that I could never make a birdie. The grounds do need some attention and repair. Cement cracking on cart paths, some ground in poor shape & clubhouse is looking a bit run down. I don't like the fact that you can't take the cart on 8 of the 18 fairways (4 par 3's and 4 additional holes). If I wanted to walk, I'd walk. Overall, when you can get a good deal on Golf Now, take it. Otherwise I think $75 on weekends is a bit steep for this course.

Great Course in great shape

I love playing this course. It is challenging but fair and always in great condition. Staff is friendly. You can take the carts in the parking lot (I love that). Driving range has mat which I don't care for. This is a great course for the Golf Now price specials. try it!
