Ken McDonald Golf Course
Played On 03/08/2023Slow play
Disappointed that management does not put active Marshalls on the course to encourage slow groups to speed up. We waited to hit on virtually every hole but #18. Round took 5 hours and 10 minutes. Way too slow. And not the first time this has happened. Note: We do occasionally see a "Marshall" on the course, but they sure don't seem to be doing anything to encourage slow groups to speed up.

Fairways good; traps ok; but the greens simply don’t have enough grass on them. I thought that management would show some evidence of fixing the greens, but so far no.
The Vineyard at Escondido
Played On 06/08/2021Great layout. Plenty challenging. Very scenic. But greens weren’t mowed for our 11:40 tee time. Sand traps were in poor condition. Too much bare ground in fairways.

There may not be any other course in Arizona that makes me smile as much as this little beauty does.

This course is an absolute delight to play. It is a great surprise to find this quality a lay-out and outstanding greens in a back water location like this. I don't know who designed it, but it is so much fun to play. Par 33, but not as easy as the typical "executive" course. At the price we paid I consider this a great bargain for a very interesting and scenic round of golf. We will always include this course in our play plans each time we come to visit our timeshare unit in Sedona.

Wonderful find. Fabulous greens, great layout, luscious green landscape in natural canyons. Narrow and challenging for executive length course. We will definitely be back to play this fun and beautiful course again every time we are in this area.

Nice course; very nice greens; good lay-out, however the condition of the sand traps certainly detracted from our overall satisfaction of our day on the course. There is simply no good reason that I can see that the traps could not have been and should not have been raked prior to play. We found virtually every trap on the course hard and crusty. At this price in this area we expected better. Somehow they could afford to have two rangers touring the course, but apparently they could not afford to pay the ground crew to rake the traps.
