I love this course. Greens are challenging but nothing else is particularly special. I cringe when I see this course come up as a top rated, not because it isn't a solid course, but because folks will not accept it for what it is; an easy going fun course. One of the few 9 hole courses I've seen with 2 legitimate par 5s.. Both are reachable in 2 strokes, just unlikely. None of the greens will accommodate shots with low trajectories. Simply put, you're going off the back.

Fast, hard fairways with undulating, fast greens.

This course doesn't get the recognition it deserves.

Complementary range balls. Great practice facilities. Excellent staff and pro shop. Great course.

The course is an eyesore.

Nothing really looks good. But...everything is playable. Greens are solid. Hard and fast. Fairways bounce and roll. Plenty of trouble.

If you can get over the looks of the course, you will find a decent reasonably priced course.

Shout out to GolfNow for keeping me in the game. Tons of locations at great rates! Especially when compared to purchasing tee times from the pro shops.

Everything about this course screams premium golf. Location, resort, pro shop, facilities... all great! Things don't head south until you see the actual course. I could sit and make excuses all day but simply put....they don't maintain it. Not to the premium status you are sold in the brochure.

Good course? Absolutely! I'll go back for the layout alone. The greens were clean and mean but on the slow side. Tee boxes weren't bad. It was just everything in the middle. See pics below. Fairways were a mess. Cow pasture like for some. The roughs were terrible...just eye sores all over.

The course was like that male/female you've had your eye on that has an amazing body but is ugly as h3ll. Yup, you're gonna hit that and definitely enjoy yourself while doing it. Its just the dirty feeling you'll have afterwards. (Unless you got a great deal!)

I traveled 1.5hrs to play this course based on a 4.9 Golf Advisor Rating.

I was disappointed. Not because it wasn't a good course, just it wasn't a 4.9 course. Strong course just not 5 star. Probably more in range of 4.1. Putting Greens but no range. Pro shop carries basics. Course was in great shape just not 4.9 shape. I would say everything good about The Timbers is in the actual course. Everything else was just ok.

How do you rate a course where you pretty mixh liked everything but the 10some!!! Yes 10some as in 1 2 3 4 5 6 6 7 8 9 10 people playing in a group infront of you? And the staff was aware of this.

The course was in solid shape. Fairways were ok. Greens were fast and fair. Traps were maintained. Range and putting greens available. All in all thr course was solid. But 10somes should not be allowed during peak golf times.

Great Course!

Red is the toughest of the 3. If possible (and you haven't warned up) try to avoid starting there. I love the 3 9 hole layout gives you plenty of variety. Greens were fast and clean.

Orlando Must Play

Drove 1.5 hrs to play the course.

The carts were plush and equipped with bluetooth speakers.

Complimentary golf balls provided on the fully equipped training facility. Multiple practice greens with chipping areas.

Got a chance to see both the North and South course. Although the North course had more of a manicured look, the South course was more exciting. The greens were fast and smooth. Course wasn't perfect but was in great shape.

Staff was extremely friendly.

I absolutely loved it! And it was well worth the trip.

Clubhouse ran out of carts. Probably started 45 mins late.
Forced to ride with golfer you don't know.

If you can get past those two issues, the course is challenging but the greens roll like glass. A light drizzle saved us on the back as it slowed down the greens. If you are unfamiliar with the course make use of course gps to assist you with blind shots. There's always a hazard lurking around the corner. It's a local favorite so never expect the course to be wide open.

Must play if you are an Orlando golfer.

I've been hearing about FF for years and read some of the recent reviews. I think they might have been at the wrong course. It reminded me of METROWEST right before they hit rock bottom.

You can definitely see where FF might have been a good course in the past but as of 9/16, that course is in serious need of some work.

Pros:

- Pace of Play (because it was empty)
- Layout

Cons:

- Conditions (Cut the grass),
- Greens were in poor shape
- Drainage problems in fairways
- Tee boxes were in poor shape

This course is definitely trending in the wrong direction. If you're a Floridian, anything over $20 is too much.

Lastly, it's no big deal but is certainly irritating when GOLFNOW tells you what you have to pay at the course and upon arrival, you here a different price. You will owe an additional amount over whatever your DUE AT THE COURSE amount tells you.

This course is receiving the work it needs.

It was a bit chewed up from the carts and the rain, but the effort to maintain the course was visible.

Greens were solid
Fairways were solid
No unreasonable drainage spots in play
Great Value for the money.

I'm actually getting to the point where I play this course too much.

I would recommend this course to a friend with an asterisk. The pace of play brings nightmares to golfers that know how things should work. Anytime a course is as busy as Ventura a Ranger is a must. Disney stays packed, but moves. Ventura doesn't. I was stuck behind a couple that struggled. The man had the nerves to play from the back tees. Both played 2 balls each hole. They hit every shot., searched and retrieved every lost ball, drove a shared cart to each individual's ball and waited....they did just about everything that would have had a less scrupulous golfer hitting balls into them. And there was really nothing that could be done. On #15 they combined for 40+ shots. It was awful.

Ventura is currently experiencing a fish fly infestation. Inverted cups on the greens pretty much eliminate putting from the game.

Will return but not anytime soon.

I'm always surprised to meet a "golfer" living in the Orlando Metro that has not played Mission Inn. You simply will not find a course in Orlando Metro with a more challenging layout.

Cons - Distance. It took me an hour to get there but I've never been disappointed when I arrived.

Pros - Everything else. This course held the NCAA Championship (I believe) like 3-5 years ago. I also believe they were scheduled to hold a PGA event this year.

If you are not careful with your shot selection, you will easily have a triple digit score. Watch out for #17!

Before the Covid pandemic they had an excellent seafood buffet served on the weekends.

Great course for locals. I traveled an hour to play the course based on ratings and was disappointed. My expectations were too high. Overall- this ls a very challenging course. If you are unfamiliar with it you should definitely pull out an app. Would play here regularly if i was a local but probably won't return anytime soon.

Course conditions were below average. Cow pasture like fairways did not reward well hit balls. Greens were im good shape which is needed because they are not easy. Everything else was kinda blah.

They have driving range, chipping area and putting green.

All Marriot courses seem to have a certain look and feel. Grande Vista fits the same mold.

Cons - it's only 9 holes.

Pros - everything else

5* facilities having multiple ranges, practice greens, and chipping areas. 2 of the ranges are covered and well shaded.

Great Bar and Grille - when golf returns to being a social sport, it's an excellent place to eat, relax, and socialize. (Not sure if it's open)

Course remains in pristine condition. I think they'd shut the entire course down before they presented you with a scarred, patchy green. Not the most challenging course but enjoyable. I love walking the course.

Course could have used an active ranger. The group ahead of us would not allow us to pass.

Course remains crowded. At one point we had 4 groups waiting for one hole. But everything else was solid. Course amenities are 1*. Food is great!

The course was in great shape! Actual sand in traps. Greens clean and fast. Fairways neat and roiling. This is a short, tight course that will not allow you to over power it.

The amenities don't match the quality of the course. Driving range is down the street.

The pace of play was dreadful. A ranger was badly needed on the back 9. Started at 2:30ish and barely finished before dark. Group ahead is mostly to blame for this.

Overall this is a great value play..

It kills me to see people write scathing reviews then put 3 star ratings. A 3 star course is not a bad course at all. If this course was 3 star i would certainly play it. 5 star = Waldorf, Ritz, Tranquillo, Mission Inn, etc. 1 = Metrowest, backyard, etc

If you are golfer and have basic expectations for a course, Metrowest will let you down. There is really nothing positive about this course at this point. Management has completely let it go. I live within a mile of the course and I will not play it again. Anything over $5 is too high.

List of things that need improvement:
Tee boxes - uneven, no maintenance, disgusting
Fairways- potholes, can not distinguish from rough, trashed
Sand traps - no sands, no rakes for what's there, caved in
Greens - patchy, holes, no roll whatsoever

1, 9, 18 look decent because they are near club house. All other holes are a 1 out of 10.

This could be a premium course because of layout and length.

Avoid this course.

But that's about it. Huge letdown! One of the better layouts you will find in the Orlando area. But just about every negative comment you can think of could be made for at least 3 holes on this course. Fairways resembled small explosive test area. Sand traps were caved in. They didn't even bother providing rakes. Somehow greens were both muddy and sandy. #2 had a sandtrap on the green.

Staff was friendly and they have everything you need for practice. It's disappointing to see a course with so much potential be in such disarray.

I really enjoyed my round at Viewpoint. Willing to wager that they have an extremely high volume considering their beyond reasonable fees. Greens were fast and fair. Fairways easily distinguishable from the rough. #9 is a thing of beauty.

Tons of brown spots (Az, summer), avg practice facilities, and irritable staff and members won't justify a 4* rating but if Az was my home, viewpoint would certainly be in the running for my home course.

Great 3* course! Look forward to returning.
