Lochmere Golf Club
Played On 04/10/2017Fairways in poor condition
Played as a 3-some. The course was really packed and there was no starter which created some chaos at the first tee. We had 12:35 pm tee time but didn't get off until nearly 1 pm.
I liked course layout and greens, but the fairways are in very poor shape, very very sandy and spotty. We paid $45 which was way too much for course shape. Was disappointed there was no mention or sign about condition of fairways.
Would not recommend in current state unless rates were around $25.
St. Johns Golf & Country Club
Played On 09/19/2016Vacation golf
We've played this course before so that is why we returned. It was not as crowded as before when we played on a Saturday in April. We had early am tee time for under $40. Course is in immaculate shape from tee boxes, fairways, and greens.
Cutter Creek Golf Club
Played On 09/14/2016Excellent course in middle of nowhere
Excellent course in middle of nowhere. Layout is great and greens are FAST. They were aerated and sanded when we played but the ball rolled well. Layout is open but there are lots of hazards outside the fairways.
Cobblestone Park Golf Club - Garnet Course
Played On 08/25/2016Cobblestone Park is great club with three 9-hole courses
Played here for the first time as a 2-some. Very well manicured course, we played the Garnet-Black from the member tees. Course conditions were excellent and great value when we played at 9:33 am for under $40 on a Thursday. Carts didn't have GPS but you pin locations for all 3 courses and course is well marked.
Cherokee Valley Course and Club
Played On 08/05/2016Great and challenging course
We played as a threesome on Fri morning. Course is very challenging, reminds me of a RTJ layout. Not a flat spot on course (fairways or greens), so bring your A game. The blue tees played about 6,100 yds. This is now my favorite course in Greenville/Spartanburg area with Clemson's Walker course as close second.
Foxfire Resort & Golf Club - Grey Fox Course
Played On 07/20/2016Older course with challenging layout
This is an old course not many amenities. We played the Grey course as Red course was closed. I really liked the hole layouts. The greens were OK my main complaint is bunkers. It's not sand more like crushed rock/gravel, very coarse. So it tends to be well compacted. One of my playing partners just decided to putt his ball out of bunkers. It was hot, there was no cart attendant on course and there is no return to clubhouse after 9 holes, so stock up before you tee off. I like the course but wouldn't pay more than $25.
Royal Lakes Golf & Country Club
Played On 03/25/2016Late round on Good Friday
We got off after 2 pm on Friday. Course was in good shape. Fairways were firm so the ball got a lot of roll. Greens are really fast. Challenging and fun course with plenty of water hazards. Course GPS with Garmin watch is accurate.
