Absolutely horrid pace of play. 2:41 for 9 holes is insanity!!! They book so close for obvious reasons, but I assume you just need to understand that. Staff is super friendly though and a good place for beginners with a nice breeze (wind and downwind holes with some elevation).

The layout is a lot of fun, especially the front 9 starting off near the bay and following it along....hole #5 was a blast from the black tee box, even though it is under 370 as a par 4. The wet conditions made the greens slow at the end of the roll, but overall, the greens where fine. Pace of play was great (pre 8am tee time; 3.25 pace). Super friendly staff as well:). The back nine has a bit less character in layout than the front, but the experience is still quality.

Fantastic venue to play. The course holds shots for all golf levels of play, so do not assume that the short yardage means you will not be tested; you gotta hit the greens in the right place:). For the time of year, the course drained well and the greens were in good shape. Rainy and windy early this morning, but it was still a blast. Definitely worth a play when you are in anew Orleans.

It would be unfair to say that the course is not challenging. The course layout definitely contest you especially from the tips. However, three hours for nine holes is absurd. I gave up after 13 because the group in front of us had three players and we literally waited on every hole including par fives at the Teebox. The Marshall did come out and did absolutely nothing to get things moving. When the game of golf takes this long it is not good for anyone. I will definitely come back in the spring or summer to finish playing the course as it does provide an enjoyable experience in terms of course content. However you need to be aware of the slow play that is currently being allowed.

For sub $30 during the week at 8am...there is zero complaining on my end. The course has issues due to the time of the year, so that is normal and expected. Greens are getting better you could tell, but a few months away at the moment. Ball still rolled relatively smooth (surprisingly when you look from afar). When the bunker areas take hold with the tall grass they inserted, it should make for an interestingly fun test of golf. All in all, friendly staff and a good course. The rating from the tips is fairly spot on, especially when you add in the wind on a few holes that really need force you to play links style shots (3 handicap and shot 76; 2 balls in the drink not knowing the water crept in on 2 holes so close). Would definitely recommend to anyone in the Houston area. Pace of play was 3:56 for a 4-some (8:08 am tee time with a dozen groups starting before us).

Look, the course is in wonderful shape. The Staff is incredibly friendly (top notch in my opinion) and helpful. The pace of play is just out of this world slow. People taking 6 swings each and driving their carts to avoid playing ready golf. I was on pace for a 6 hour round at the turn, so I quite early despite a subpar round thus far. This was my 3rd time this Summer encountering similar slow play. I wouldn’t go back with this pace of play EVER....and I truly love the course.

The greens were crazy receptive and spongy; holds almost anything coming in with some trajectory. Look, come here to play with a beginner or just work on your approach under 140 yards. It is a good course for a beginner and even advanced players could walk away feeling good about their time.

The course has come back a bit and they are making good improvements to ensure the course adapts well. Speeds on the Greens were rolling average to mid/high quality. The pace of play needs to be adjusted and worked on though. However, the course is a good little year with the wind blowing. If you can play a twilight rate, you are getting an insane value compared to other courses around. I would recommend this completely:)
