Tough Rough!

as soon as we arrived a member warned us it was the day of their championship and the greens had been ironed and the rough was extremely punishing1 he was correct about both although quick greens are a treat to play on, long rough isn't !
Nice layout with a few holes played over water, great pace of play and will be returning soon.

Worth a visit

I had read a few reviews and feared the worst, however, pleasantly surprised by good condition in winter, pace of play was very good and two contrasting nines with the front playing long without any roll with the back 9 more strategic. Some wonderful houses within the course and some tough par 3's with the 12th being 203 yards off the temporary tees (further back than the original which is a rarity). The stroke index for the fourth hole is strange as its a 441 yard par 4 with two ditches on the fairway and the SI is 14! They are doing some work on the 17th hole which will look lovely when done. Well worth a visit

15 dgrees in March

Do not be fooled by the relatively short length of the course, the opening hole appears to be 330 yards off the visitors tees but the dogleg is a right angle and with trees en route you need a good 220/230 to be able to see the green for your approach. water comes into play on around 5 holes and the 17th is very picturesque, only 100 yards but over a lake and with a stream at the rear you have to get club selection correct. Great value in the afternoon at £20 per head, well worth a visit

Take lots of balls!

I haven't played this course for a few years and had forgotten how much mater there was on it, coming into play on around 14 holes. The par fives should all be played as 3 shots to the green and a wood is not required off the tee, more plotting your approach until the green. There a re a lot of ditches which catch out short/long shots and was extremely testing in the high winds which we encountered. A look at the scorecard suggest a lot of short par fours but do not let this fool you! A very enjoyable round and great condition in February

Very Cold

This course has some varied holes although they have taken quite a bit off the length during the winter with the tee mats although they do look to be carrying out a lot of work on the real tee boxes. It was very cold and there were not a lot of brave (or stupid) people on the course so we flew round. Would definitely recommend and will be returning when the weather picks up!

Picturesque back 9

The course opens up with a short par 4 which is best suited for an iron for position to leave a gap wedge onto the green. The next 5 holes are ok but are the higher stroke index's as quite open. the course comes to life at the 7th hole with a dogleg left with water waiting to catch an errant tee shot for those trying to cut the corner off. Water comes into play on a lot of the back 9 and the last is a treat through a narrow entrance so you need to be on the short stuff. A good round with friendly staff and course in good condition considering the amount of rain we have had and the time of the year. Well worth a vist
