If you are late to book a tee time at Royal Port Rush, the Valley which runs along side, is a good alternative. Be aware that if you book at tee time and you are a solo or twosome, that’s the way you will play. Most course will not add any players to a tee time, so, as a solo, I played alone at four courses I’d booked. Also, carts (buggies) are few and far between and one needs a doctors statement to use one. So, at 75, with two knee replacements, I walked the course. Royal Dublin, Port Marnock and BallyCastle issued a buggy at my request.. Women playing the Valley are viewed as in the way of male golfers.
