Acushnet River Valley Golf Course
Played On 08/12/2021Sweet Track
Really enjoyed playing here, a fair and challenging golf course with nice greens. Was in great shape. I’ll be back for sure to try a different set of tees. The pro shop was essentially a payment window.

The golf course is a good solid test of ball striking from the tips and the greens roll true. Of the 3 staff employees I encountered only the ranger would smile and say hello. Pro shop guy took my money and said - have a good one before the register even closed. Repeated it when I didn’t walk away right away. Starter who knew we weren’t members just said 4 hours when we teed off.
I’m spending my hard earned money to play golf, be a little friendlier.
Didn’t stay for food or drink after.

This course is fun & the price is right. The holes all offer a good challenge and the staff is full of very friendly people. If it was super busy I could see it being rather slow, since it's more of a beginner/intermediate place. Conditions are what you'd expect for an affordable golf facility.

I had only played here during a charity event. Finally got out to play a real round. This is a simple challenging trouble in front of you golf course. The greens are fast and the average approach shot is long if you are not a bomber. Full range, chipping and putting available. Dog leg lefts and rights. It's very enjoyable and was not busy at all on a Thursday morning. The only negative is the finishing hole. It's just long and straight no elevation or bend.

I really like this place. The holes are nothing wild, but I like the approach shots and the greens. It's just a nice place to hit different clubs off the tee and work on different things. Tee boxes are not in good shape, but that's my only complaint. Def worth a hot deal.

I've played 7,000 yard courses that are easier. So don't be fooled by the yardage.
The greens here are the courses defense, and it's impossible to figure them out on practice green because it's not even close to how they play. They roll out a good 3 feet more than most courses and downhill putts are not stopping.
Tee boxes are in awful shape which is most likely due to the summer of no rain.
My only real complaint.
The past two times I've come, I got a bucket of balls to hit and the starter tried to send me off 5 min after arriving and well ahead of my actual tee time. If I'm paying $8 for a bucket of balls I'm hitting them.
Also #18 is top 5 finishing holes I've played anywhere.

This course is great, if you like golf you'll love this.
Long par 4's, fast greens with lots of hidden little breaks. Second shot accuracy is key, and the course gives you several different ways to attack each hole. The 2nd hole I'm not a fan of, but that's about it. I love the 15th, that is a golf hole.
What is not great is the obvious anger from the staff & members that the public is allowed to get 2 tee times a day. I was greeted poorly when I checked in, and by the 3 other people I saw on the course while my group was playing.
A simple "how are you doing today" turned into blank stares back like I was committing a crime.
Then 3 minutes later these people accused someone I was playing with of hitting their ball, when they were standing 7 feet from it.
By all means come play and really have a challenging day of golf, just don't expect any proper ediquette from the people who there.

Great golf course. All about the approach.
Greens were smooth, not lightning but they putted true. Fairways and tee boxes were nice. In fact, the conditions all around were awesome.
Holes were appropriate distance for my game, nothing too crazy, but no gimmes. As with any good Ross course, the shorter holes aren't pitch and putts.
Really fun track. #2 and #11 greens are wild. The guys in the pro shop were very nice.
Small range, but it wasn't busy.
The only odd thing was that not one bunker had a rake to go with it, of course the sand was the type you could easily shift with your foot.
Overall this place was Awesome!
Thanks a lot! We appreciate your feedback and are happy to hear that you enjoyed your round. Please come back and play again soon!
