Been playing both courses at OCN regularly. Panther is in terrific shape right now, from tee to green. Tees are perfect. Greens have almost completely healed from aeration. Bunkers are all consistent and in good shape (firm, but consistent). Fairways are lush. Rough is perfect height to be 1/2 shot penal. Staff always magnificent. 2 bottles of water per cart, so bring more on weekdays. Some pace of play issues, but manageable with patience.

Perfection from tee to green, and then some. Every aspect of Thistle was 5 star. Bag drop staff, pro shop staff, starter, beverage cart and rangers were all friendly and concerned about our enjoyment.
Conditions were perfect. Despite recent rain, the fairways, rough, bunkers, fringes and greens were in perfect condition. Greens were soft but fast.
Nature areas abound and were all spectacular. Lots of wildlife visible on several holes.
Course can play tough for being short, so pick correct tee box. Lots of thought required on most holes, especially the par 5’s.
Wife loved red tee box positions that were properly placed for her game.

9AM tee time. Start with no one at bag drop, and no starter. Pro shop direction was “grab any cart, load yourself, head that way and tee of when ready”. No one to clean clubs when done and no beverage cart. Water on course but cooler nozzles covered in black mold.
Tee markers were sticks that you couldn’t see from cart path and you had to count tee boxes from back to know about where to go. Several of my wife’s tee boxes just bumps in fairway. Fairways and first cut were fine. Greens were in good shape, still healing. Bunkers were wet and edges of bunkers not cared for. Several heavy traffic areas between green side bunkers were impossible to play from. Yardage markers in fairway were 6” sticks stuck in ground and several holes didn’t have any. No pin position indicators, Flag sticks had small flags to indicate position of flag but most were wrong or missing or flopping on bottom of flag stick covering the hole.
Disappointed in what are minor but numerous issues and won’t be back.

My wife and I play all over Orlando area. First time here. Was disappointed by lack of bag drop help. Check in was fine but no starter or directions to get to first tee it’s a long drive). Tee boxes are all weeds mowed low. Fairways ok but the rough and just beyond spotty or bare. Bunkers average, but in numerous waste areas the sand was so deep they gobbled balls and you were lucky to find it. Greens were smooth, very contoured, but extremely slow. Two biggest issues were smell in the area (fertilizer or cow pasture) and lack of water on course (no beverage cart - this was an AM round).
With so many other courses in the area, we won’t be back.

First time here, was pleasantly surprised by awesome greens. Great challenging layout. Course is lined with homes but they are for most part well out of play. Lots of sharp dog legs and tight fairways. No rough to speak of so tendency is to grip and rip. Fairways for most part ok but some worn spots due to cart and walker traffic. Lots of bare area where rough should be. Plenty of water in play. Very long course for ladies. Staff awesome and practice facilities excellent. One danger is 15th tee box right next to par 5 14th green They need to move cart path to other side of 15th tee box.

From valet park to car pickup it was a perfect day. Friendly staff all around. Course in perfect shape. Tee boxes, fairways, greens all perfect. Rough, bunkers, fringe all perfect. Several bunkers flooded but marked for free drop so no issue. Great layout, friendly for all handicaps from correct tee boxes. Step back one tee box and you stare at hour glass shaped fairways with very tight landing areas. Great pace of play and perfect lies all day. Lots of construction around the perimeters, but don’t blame the course, it’s central Florida and you should expect it. Restaurant a little pricey and slow, but that’s not why you go here.

Been playing here for 20 years. Surprised at some poor conditions. Many tee boxes have barely any grass. Greens were slower than usual. Fairways fine in most spots but had 4 lies that were mostly dirt. Second cut just off fairway was often hard pan or browned out. Most lies just off green were poor quality. Sand ok. No beverage cart. Staff and 19th hole awesome as always. I’d rate 3.5 stars if I could.

I’m a 8 hcp and play here often. New pace of play rules require 4:12 round. While I know the course and play quick, all my playing partners felt rushed on every shot. I get they want to squeeze extra groups out every day but it’s too quick a pace for average, and some advanced, golfers.
Carts suck. 3 out of last 5 rounds cart nearly died at end and we had to limp along last few holes. Maybe working carts would “quicken” the pace more???
Lack of GPS on carts in surprising for such a great place. Make sure you have a laser range finder.
Practice facilities are top notch and abundant.
WAter provided and beverage cart appeared regularly.
Greens were recently verticut and were on slow side yesterday. Top coated two weeks ago, so last 2 Sunday rounds were sub standard.
Usually give this facility 5 stars across the board. Above issues knock it down a star.
Bag staff at check in and out, pro shop staff, starters and rangers all top notch.

I play here a few times a year. Course is in top shape. Tee boxes, fairways, greens, bunkers and rough all in excellent condition. Played from the correct tee box the course offers plenty of challenge but nothing too difficult. Good shots are rewarded with excellent position on the ample fairways and most bunkers only catch mishit shots. Greens have lots of break to challenge your putting. Amenities are excellent and had a great lunch that was included in tee time. Pace of play a little slow as group ahead fell well behind and rangers seemed too polite to push them along. Only real negative.

First time playing here. It’s a flat and relatively straight course. You get in trouble missing the narrow fairways with rough that covers the ball and makes it difficult to control distance. Further left or right and you are in jail due to the massive amount of trees lining both sides of most fairways. Course was impressively weed free and in generally good to excellent condition with exception of fringe and some bunkers. Excellent practice facilities.

Awesome layout with some tricky dog legs and enough water hazards to make you think on each tee shot, this could be a fun, challenging course.
Unfortunately the course has apparently been neglected for a while. and is being sparingly maintained. Pro shop took my payment and pointed me at a cart with no welcome or directions. Most greens have many bare spots and a handful were partially dug up (one third of 2nd green was missing). That should have been posted on golf now or mentioned before I teed off.
Tees were mostly hard dirt with some weeds that were mowed low. Fairways were tolerable (smooth at least) but hard pan in spots and lots of closely mowed goose grass. Off the fairways was mostly weeds including the fringe around most greens. Bunkers acceptable.
97 degree day and water only on 2 holes with no beverage cart. Bathroom on course was worse than most subway stations and i had to walk out due to gagging.
Self service bag drop before and after round.
Price was reasonable for the conditions but I'd rather drive a few more minutes and find better "minimum" standards.

Fun course if you want a quick round that tests all you clubs. Par 67 but some of the par 3’s are monsters. Some par 4/5’s are tight and challenging. Greens mostly acceptable but many had spots of weeds that were mowed tight. Some tee boxes need work. Fairways have dried up and are now bumpy when driving to your ball. They are mostly weed free with a few bare spots that didn’t affect play. Bunkers in good enough shape. All in all a great value if you want to get out and just hit the ball. Adequate practice facilities.

My wife and I played 36 on a Friday in 6.5 hours with a break for sit down lunch. Conditions are excellent with a few exceptions: a couple of greens had some bare spots and a few fairways as well (minus one star). But they were minor issues. Course is fun from correct tee box (move forward one). Greens rolled true with enough break to make it challenging. Rough was penal but fair (half stroke penalty). Bunkers were in good shape, with several pot bunkers in strategic positions. Lot s of elevation change and rolling fairways. All tee boxes were excellent. Staff was friendly. No beverage cart on duty but water available every 3-4 holes (but it needed to be colder, minus one star). Hole #2 ate me alive as I’m sure it will you too. Wife (17 hcp) loved course and can’t wait to go back. Excellent practice facilities.

Played 36 as a twosome 9/19/18. Pace was awesome. Conditions are mostly excellent. Some fairways had bare spots. Several bunkers under renovation which involved 8 workers, multiple back hoes and other heavy equipment. Greens still healing from aeration so every putt bounced the entire way. Awesome layout with many challenging shots. Fully loaded beverage cart seen frequently. Staff was awesome. Replay expensive at $40 for the condition of greens and bunkers.

While slightly out of the way for me, this place is worth the trip. Course conditions were perfect tee to green. Biggest pro shop, helpful and friendly staff, great food, and the course is one of the best in the Orlando area with an incredible practice facility.

Booked through golf now, drove 45 minutes to replay this fun track. Had been here last week and wrote a stirling review. As we entered the clubhouse, we saw a sign saying “restaurant closed due to aerification”. I looked at my brother and said “wow, I hope the restaurant has a turf floor and they don’t mean the course”. Well they meant the course. It had been aerated the day before and was totally unplayable as the greens were covered with chunks of dirt and mud. I spoke to the manager about why there was no aerification alert on Golfnow and he blamed GolfNow for not posting it. I also asked why they didn’t post a sign last week and he had no answer. Very disappointed after the log drive and stuck with no other option except to play on un-puttable greens, and to have the restaurant closed.

Played here a few times, always enjoy playing this hidden track. Super friendly staff jumped on our bags from the parking lot and guided us through checkin. Reasonable price through golf now. Greens were excellent with plenty of break. Tees and fairways a little rough in spots but mostly fair to excellent. What makes this place unique is the extreme elevation changes on just about every shot you hit. The only flat stance I had all day was in the pro shop while checking in! I’m a 10 hcp and played the blue tees and was adequately challenged on every hole. My wife is a 17 and was happy with her position and opportunities on every hole. Very fair course. Drinking water on nearly every hole and beverage cart available. Lots of natural hazards abound on each side of most holes and if you hit it crooked expect to be taking a long walk down a hill for your next shot.

First time playing here. No one at bag drop before or after round, so load and unload yourself. One person in pro shop, took payment and pointed us at carts and first tee. No beverage cart on duty. Tee boxes and greens in excellent condition, greens have plenty of undulations and require focus but they were slow. Fairways were mixed condition. Course was wet in spots and there was a noticeable swampy smell throughout. Almost every ball had mud on it after landing in fairway, so no roll at all. It’s obvious they are trying to keep course in tip top shape and if effort shows. Good mix of clubs used off tee boxes and both wife and I enjoyed it.

This is a tight course, not very long. Hit irons or fairway woods off most tees, not many places to use a driver. Playing surface (tee boxes, fairways, first cut of rough, greens, fringe, and bunkers) all in good to excellent condition. Greens healed but some residual from aeration still exists. Not much in terms of views, as it's a 90 year old course that's fully lined with homes and streets. Excellent practice facility (range balls included in price we paid). No drinking water on course and didn't see beverage cart until we were on our 15th hole. Carts with GPS were excellent and accurate. Staff all helpful and friendly, except no help available with bags before or after round (load and unload your own, clean your own). Would recommend course for higher handicappers or players looking to play a course where accuracy is more important than distance.

First time playing Panther Lake and replayed on Crooked Cat. Both courses had excellent and consistent conditions from tee to fairway (including rough) to bunkers and greens. Memorable layout. Tough par 3's make sure you pick correct tee box then move forward one set. Large greens with slight undulations and they rolled true. Wife enjoyed her game from the forward tees as well. Staff inside and out super friendly and helpful. Worth the extra money for the experience of this vast complex. Pace a little slow for some but this is a big place and you spend a fair amount of time driving from green to next tee.
